I'm curious what it's like for folks when inside and visualizing their other parts / alters / inner world.
I've got pretty good vizualization skills, for just about anything but people. I don't know if this is because we're prosopagnosic (face blind) or if it's just our own peculiar way. When I go inside to talk, my default 'landscape' is just a black void and everyone is just a disembodied amorphous entity.
I thought that might be intimidating or uncomfortable for others so I created a castle courtyard with lots of plants and trees and a fountain and benches. I can map out the entire castle around that, all the rooms and I can visit it all, but when I go there, I'm still an invisible floating mind/voice. I even made a mirror to try and see myself and I have no reflection. I've met Rebecca in there and can't see her either.
So I end up slipping back to the empty void because it's easier and I don't have to think about a house full of rooms without any people.
I'm also finding that sometimes when I hear from others, I don't know who they are. It's like, on some occasions there is a strong sense of them and I know immediately who I'm hearing from. Other times I 'hear' them but the words have no sense of 'who' is behind them. All I have to figure out who's spoken, is the dialog.
Like if you got a random text message from an unknown number, you could probably guess if it was a child, teen, or adult, based on the words and grammar of the message, but that's all the clues you have?
Just wondering what these experiences are like for other people, do you have environments, do you see your other parts in there as fully realized people?
