I’ve heard great things about it but have not attended. Let us know how it goes Berta and fmkeylock.

I also have been to the International Society of of Dissociation and Trauma National Conference in DC early this year. For me that was a disaster, I truly expected a lot more professionalism then what was displayed. The top Dr's in the world were there, but man were they assholes, sorry no other way to put it...................

Sorry let me clarify this statement, most of them were jerks, but not all......There is a lot of in fighting in the group as to who is right, what is the right approach and so forth, openly berate each other behind each other's back. I say they are all right as everyone is different and has different needs. Many also had strong political and religious views that had no place for a professional conference. Those things combined and then the preset bias that I was there to learn about DID to help my son I was labeled and shunned.

Dr. Kluft looked right at me and said "I have said to much and I am shutting my mouth now and no longer will speak to you". I responded I emailed you, I called you and you did not return my calls, I have been asking you for help. My son did not ask for this, I did not ask for this, but we was thrown into this world and went from A to Z overnight now I need to learn everything in between. He showed a tad empathy at that point but not much.

Other professionals that go to learn may not be so triggered or have a response, my going I had a direct agenda it was personal not professional.

Our therapist made us aware of an upcoming one-day Healing Together conference in Boston, Thursday, Sept. 21, 2019. It's a rare conference, open to clients and Ts, focused on DID and is being held at McLean Hospital. My adopted son and I are almost definitely attending. We've both been in therapy for years now so aren't concerned about getting triggered, etc.

The tenth annual Healing Together conference in Orlando, is happening Friday through Sunday, Feb. 7-9, 2020. I'm pretty sure our T has been a speaker at past conferences of this organization and recommends it, since we've been telling her my son and I would like to attend something like this for a long time.
