twins

Postby Mayaamor » Mon Nov 06, 2017 11:11 am

Hi all, just got a question about the twin alts (me and me)

I saw that a lot of people here have twin alts, what causes them to be created as twins in contrast to just a singular alter?
Maya - 24♀ - Host
MayMay - 4♀
Katelyn - 31♀
John - 28♂
Dante - 48♂
Lyanette - 17♀
Gem/ini - both 6♂/♀

Whenever I've had a twin (and even triplets in certain cases) it's been a situation where the other(s) were a strong personality of mine that I identified myself with, but didn't feel I could have that personality all the time.

I'm an only child too, so I think a twin makes it sorta like even if you don't act the same you're both forced to understand one another to an extent. Long story short one isn't easy to get along with "but we're sisters, so we deal with it."

I never felt a connection with my real family either, so a lot likely has to do with that.

At age 4 the SA expanded from the father and three alters arrived to attempt to deal with it. Johann refused to participate and was spanked and hurt. A twin Hansel came to comfort Johann, who felt overwhelming hurt and betrayal. Johann has always been more somber and Hansel more upbeat but otherwise, they're pretty similar and seem typical four-year-olds, especially as they've both healed from so much time doing things in the present.

Quato arrived after them to deal with the father's SA and then aged along the body until we were 19. Quato is among our most damaged and suicidal alters so much so that other older alters have to monitor him for his/our safety. Hansel and Johann formed an extremely close bond and they remembered Quato as being one of their group, along with the host John. He didn't remember them, however.

We have a vague memory or idea of having met twin boys outside the body not long before this happened. I have little doubt the fascination with twins is because of them and also because of the fact that we're all twins in a sense.

John has had memories return of going places -- an amusement park, a birthday party -- and letting the twins out because it wasn't fair to them not to be able to have some fun too.

I'm sure twins can come for almost any reason, similar to how single alters arrive.

We have two theories as to why we have twins. We have two pairs: Dylan and James, and Charlie and Gabby.

1. Comfort for the alter created first. Of the two groups, we believe (not entirely sure, though) that Dylan came before James, and Charlie came before Gabby. Dylan has pretty bad ADHD- James calms him down and helps him filter himself. Charlie is a very trauma filled Little- Gabby is carefree and happy, and she spends a lot of time cheering Charlie up. We think that maybe Gabby and James were created as helpers to their twin.

2. Loneliness. We grew up without many (if any) healthy attachments. We also grew up in an area with a lot of twins. Maybe we saw how close and happy the twins around us were and wanted that sort of friendship.

Those are just our theories. I'm sure the reasons vary wildly from person to person, as most things with DID/OSDD do.

Jesse - Puppy. Kas - Wolf.

And this is a TW for gross big people stuff which I do not say any more about except those words.

Hi to Mayaamor. I am Joseph and I am 8 and a half. Christine is my twin sister. I am a fun guy and Christine is serious. She found out about gross big people stuff. And our bigger people say that I am a boy because maybe boys don't have to do gross big people stuff. But sometimes they do but our brain didn't know that. And I think I am a boy just cuz I am.

And this is the end of the TW.

And we also have emily and heidi who are twins and they are 6 and a half to 7. heidi used to be mad and emily used to cry alot. And our bigger people say that they are here cuz our second outside brother was born handicapped and our mother paid lots of attention to him and not to us and our other brother.

And that is all the twins we have.

Joseph
Body cis ♀ (1962). Realized 1996 that we're multiple. System of 47, all cis: 42 ♀, 5 ♂; 17 littles (0-7+), 9 middles (8-11+), 14 teens (12-17+), 5 bigs (18+), + formless yin/yang.

Notable: Charity 25 (oldest), Deborah 23, Drew 23f, Mary 23, Rachel 23, Laura 17.5, Allegra 17, Cass 17, shawn 16f.
