Discovering alters/determining their identities

Postby yungpicasso » Sat Jul 29, 2017 1:12 am

Hey guys,

Please help with my alter dilemma!
So How I experience my alters are currently as different versions of myself, the same name(although none of us like the original name), life (kinda) they have different temperaments, cognition, lead different approaches to life, different body language even different physical appearance of eyes, and like different people, my alters just do not show themselves as a seperate identity from me - just an alternate version. It makes it so much harder because I cannot seperate what's me and what's not. Do/have your alters presented themselves as versions of you before? And have they changed or revealed more or become seperate identities as you learn about your system?

I've tried naming alters to see if they'll respond or it will help the whole but nothing seems right or like a lightbulb moment you know.

Our first few came with names (including me), but as time went on they only revealed it after a couple days; or we came up with one.

I guess my alters were altered perceptions of my self for the first 10 years of my life (if you look into my past there is still evidence of them), and then they became more separate and started talking.

I dont know isn't some of this alluding to the cohesivness the safe normal you all know and have built over the years. I think some of them have been just wanting not to share not notice until something gets it owning itself without regard for the other in a given sitatution. I think u gotta ask urself the why questions are u living ur best life does it make sense . Are u acknowledge being plural. I think so of this has to do with the toll of therapy assuming something is going to get them in pain . Then you may very well not be a completly separate as with some of us here with DID on this site. Possible if nothing gets u all out of wack then it might be more of and DR/DP issue . Either way each are regarded as issues and is something to heal from...
