I'm new, so I apologize if I say anything wrong.
I'm not quite sure if I have DID, but I know there are others here. But I cannot hear them or see them. I just know they're here and I just know things about them. I can't enter the headspace either, but I know what it looks like. I feel as if I'm locked away from everyone and no matter how hard I try nobody can hear my plea to get back to them
I've tried meditation and journaling and trying to just send my thoughts but nothing's working
I used to talk to them as a child and I'm scared I'll never have them back again, is there anything else I can do?
I talk to my therapist about this but I don't think she has much experience with my situation, if any

Manakete, have you looked around to see if maybe there is a T in your area that is familiar with DID? I didnt realize that what I was dealing with actually had a name until only a few years ago, and I was really fortunate that I got connected with a T who knows a lot about DID and was willing to educate herself and seek help from colleagues for what she didn't know. I hope there is someone available to help you figure this out...I know how frustrating it can be to know there is something going on but not know what or how to deal with it.

Sorry for the slow responses, I've been really busy with school
Unfortunately I'm in a very bad area therapy wise

After talking to my therapist she does have some experience with DID but she's just confused with how to help my current situation. She's sent me some different types of meditation techniques to see if that'll help but otherwise we're both at a loss. We've been talking about it at least a few minutes a session to see if we uncover anything that'll help but we just seem to be stuck right now

What makes you know they are there and know things about them? Perhaps you could use whatever way you found this stuff out to increase communication with them?

if they are there, they will communicate when they are ready in whatever way they can. i don't have active communication (not verbal anyway) with mine, but i used to. i have had to learn to be patient and over the years have tuned in a bit to when they are around or to their thoughts/feelings. but pushing doesn't help, and they will communicate when they are ready if they are there.

Dear Manakete,
Sorry to hear you are struggling. My 2 cents. Get a diagnosis. Many people lead very productive and positive lives with dissociative disorders. If you have been working with your therapist and feel you're not getting anything out of it, change therapists. Don't get stuck in "looking" for the others that may or may not exists. It is easy to become obsessed with all this. Believe me, I know. It is a pretty normal phase. That being said, you only have one life that you still have to live despite all of this. I hope it does not sound harsh. Many disorders can present with dissociative symptoms. Get a proper evaluation from a psychiatrist. Get help for depression and anxiety - both these can lead to dissociative symptoms. You sound like an intelligent person that deserves a good and productive life. Get the help you need.
Kind regards and good luck.
