Help, Dissociating at work.

Postby ThatPerson » Sun Mar 05, 2017 5:51 am

im feeling really cloudy. Cotton headed and o don't know what to do about it cus were at work. Our dog usually alerts us to it and bugs us till we sit down and makes us concentrate on her and be more present but I'm at work so she's not here to help.

Successfully present on all the endeavors coping too. I guess you gotta ask for quiet express what is important about good quality work. When the well oiled machine starts to get better using it when it seems that nothing can turn you back, because it can go south again and again. There are ways to dissociate at work and be okay sunflower seeds candy machine walk outside music etc. Kids are already getting time out. Someone was worried that work our children wouldn't get time out slowing up healing, in fact that is what we need to slow down our rampant pace of healing and the toll lol. I guess it is too late. It is only the mistakes potential mistake that can get fear in us. When that concentrations starts to suffer from the over stimulation sounds sights etc then it really need to be someone that can orient you so they don't want to be happy at the detriment of good quality work. I don't want a disruption in this moment lets get present so that work can be finished a good way to think about it.

Is it possible to bring your dog to work? As an assistant dog on medical grounds?

Just remember not every day will be good. It's ok to have a good day now & then. Have u tried meditation?

yes and no. Not so much at work. And no I don't think I could bring my dog to work without a lot of paperwork.
I can't draw at all someone is drawing me. I'm just watching.

None of us that we are currently aware of can draw very well, however this is rather good.

have you tried working with anchors? items or pictures, something small that reminds you of where you are and what you are supposed to do?

there are countless exercises from the "mindfulness" family. its worth looking into skill lists from DBT skill training. most things that keep people from selfharm also help with dissociation and feeling foggy.

we carry a small amount of medical ammonia at all times, like other women carry lipstick. 2-3 breaths and the head is clear. its not pleasant but if works as fast and effective intervention.

you can never learn enough grounding techniques...

well when in public with Alex's wife she keeps us talking and grounded but sense they split we've been using our dog. She's a service dog in training we just need to get her tested and certified. Places let us take her in as long as she's in her vest, but her alerts weren't working and I dunno why.

this is fascinating! ammonium hydroxide is one of the chemicals i use at work and i do often dissociate there.. i'll have to try a whiff next time. it's nasty stuff, but i could see how this might work.

This is true. I find if I use the same technique repeatedly it becomes ineffective - perhaps not with the ammonia though - is this the same stuff that is sold as 'smelling salts' in the pharmacy??

Other smells can also be helpful anything strong or strong tasting stuff - like high strength menthol chewing gum.

weve tried the gum and sh*t. Dunno how to get smelling salts, but the only other way we can funtion is engagement. The dog, usually jumps on us when we're dissociating.... And sense Tamea left Alex to date her coworker affair partner we don't go out with her much so the dog Sapphire is all we have to keep us engaged and grounded. We can't take her to work so I guess where do you get smelling salts and how do you know when your dissociating enough to use them?

Fenris interrupted me. Rude *ss wolf.
He loves her to death kinda like a sibling packmate for a wolf. I dunno how to explain his feelings for her.

I think you can get them at the chemist/pharmacy. Don't think they are very pleasant but thinking about getting some for me. We feel almost permanently dissociated at the moment. Snapping back in only for very brief moments. Incidentally we also have a dog but since we don't have a job she does give us some routine. Got to love dogs :)
