Set This House In Order by Matt Ruff

Postby vortexvoid » Tue Feb 28, 2017 11:37 pm

just read this book after hearing Una+ suggest it. got it from the library saturday evening and read it in one marathon session! i was surprised that it takes place in and around Seattle, which is where i live!

i searched the author because i was curious about his reasons for writing it, turns out he knew some multiples and was inspired to write the story because of that personal experience. fascinating guy. and it seems like he really did his research, because i could relate to a lot of it (though i have far less control than the main character.. maybe relate more to the other multiple in the story who is sort of in the beginnings of sorting stuff out).

anyway, found out that Matt Ruff is doing an event at a bookstore in Seattle this coming month! i'm planning to go, wanna get him to sign a copy and just say hi and thank you for writing it. also am secretly hoping to meet some others like us. dunno how, just hoping it will happen.

if anyone lives close and is interested, hit me up via PM. or not, also just wanted to say THANK YOU UNA+ FOR THE AWESOME RECOMMENDATION and that this book is great for those who are trying to understand things better. very well written. i'm a certified book snob, so i wouldn't have burned through 479 pages in one go if it wasn't just a fantastic piece of literature.
