Hi Crittle. Thanks for contributing. Can you clarify your info? When did you first seek professional help or when were you first seen by a mental health professional for any reason? And when were you diagnosed? If the two dates are close together then giving the months helps. Thanks!

Hello Una+,
I was diagnosed tenish years after I had first entered therapy.
I was officially diagnosed in 2012 if I recall.
I saw 4 therapists along the way, two trauma specialists, one licensed counselor. I also saw a psychiatrist.
I received the incorrect diagnoses of bipolar and borderline personality. Both were rescinded. The counselor apparently suspected DID, but I was diagnosed officially later in my journey.
It is worth noting though, that child services tried to remove me from my Family of Origin in 1984 and I have been told I attended therapy as a child. I don’t know if this would have been in the 80’s or 90’s.
We were officially given the diagnosis of DID and CPTSD.
Dx: DID, CPTSD, depression.
Three known alters remain.
