we are doing ok. application for the pain clinic was sent off. We have a new GP. Our old one works in a place where there are 4 GPs sharing rooms and equippment and because its basically small town life, the demand on his time is huge while only few people want to see the lady doc. but the lady doc has a schedule with open slots for me and no waiting list. Good choice. she is putting in a lot of effort to read our reports and to support us as much as possible. she prescribed massages the insurance will cover in full... I think she is a good one.
we are taking time off. for real. no answering stuff on the blog. no advocacy, no engagement with strangers on social, no nothing. we even cancelled our last therapy session this year. we had snow that day. the Littles went on a strike. No more working! Only fun! It was very clear that they would start sabotaging if I didn't give in. It's weird, to cancel a session right after the last one was so unstable. But we got really close to burning out and I can already see that the break is helping.I will just make the next 3 weeks as nice as possible and then we can pick it all up again.
happy Holidays to all of you

we got a reply from the pain clinic. admission in 3 weeks.
its gonna be a lot of work to prepare for it. especially since we won't have a room for ourselves.
its an 8h journey and we have to stay in a hotel for a night.
still trying to make some changes... we are cooking traditional mexican food against the low feelings and boreout. I also applied for a consultant job with the state government. Could hear back from it any day. It could put a bit of money in our pocket. but who knows.
we are tackling work with D in therapy, for real. it is very tricky. In a way our T is really good when we let her use her tools but the way she communicates concepts is not following our own logic and pattern of thinking. Things don't fall into place until we listen back to the recording and figure out what she was trying to say. then it turns out that we are kind of using the same tools. it feels so weird, not understanding each other that way. it isn't so bad that we can't make progress but the recordings are absolutely necessary.
There is more amnesia and it looks like some kind of host is resurfacing slowly. we will see how it goes.

Nice to get an update from you.
How long is the clinic stay? I didn't realize you could go inpatient for that. Probably a good idea so they can really fine tune everything, but definitely hard to have to share a room with someone.
Applying for a job sounds huge also. Good luck with that!
Recording sessions sounds like such a good idea. I'll keep that in mind if/when I start with another DID T. That might be a way to get off to a good start.
Sorry you're having more amnesia lately--that can't be easy.
Wishing you well!

just wanted to say that we are fine. we are at the pain clinic. they are doing an amazing job.
we probably wont leave with less pain but possibly with a new potential diagnosis that might be more treatable than what we thought. needs to be tested by a specialist at home.

That sounds promising, although I'm sorry that you probably won't leave with less pain, since it seems like that would be their main job. But it sounds like at least there's more hope for the future.
Sending good thoughts.
