Other alters who don't have their own avatars in Second Life that we know of are Linda and Dovey.

Linda is emotionless. It's almost like she's the memory bank of a computer. That idea came to me when Cindal referred to Linda has "the puter" in our journal. When Linda talks it's completely devoid of emotion. She's fact based. But she also won't answer just any question. From what we can tell she remembers everything, but she will only give information on things the other alters agree to. One friend compared her to a computer with a very strong firewall. She will sometimes use Tanner's avatar but when she does, she changes into a more cyborg look, though I haven't taken a picture of that.

Dovey doesn't have an av of her own but she often uses Mary's avatar. Dovey told a friend that she's Mary's twin, however the two have very different behaviors. Dovey is more withdrawn and triggers at the slightest provocation. She has horrible memories but will only hint at them, not explain them. That's really all I know about her.

Some of the alters have accidentally referred to other alters that we haven't met. Mary even let slip that there's a few boys in there, but we don't have names for them yet. We're not really sure just how many alters I have, only that there's more and of various ages and genders.

There are two avatars that were created that I still don't know about other than how they look and move. None of my alters have spoken up to claim them, but I do notice that they are used once in a while. I'm guessing they belong to alters that haven't publicly shown themselves to me or my friends yet.

This is the first one:

This one popped up on my log in screen a couple years ago. She looks a bit like a wood nymph. Her skin is brownish-green and she's clothed in what look like ivy leaves. Her AO (animation override) makes her move in a more sensual manner than any of the others.

(Animation Overrides are how we make our avatars move in a human fashion, rather than just standing still like robots. The animations are usually made using motion capture technology by the merchants who put them together. Animation Overrides generally include 2 to 30 standing idle animations, 1 to 5 walking animations, a running animation, flying animations, swimming animations, animations for sitting on the ground and others for sitting on objects. Some AO merchants include a few dancing animations for when you go listen to a musician. Animations can only be 30 seconds in duration in Second Life and most AO animations are exactly that long. The standing animations by the better AO merchants will flow together to make them look more like one long, unbroken animation. There are some AO merchants who make all of their real life money making animations for Second Life. How the animations move can tell you a lot about the personality of the person who buys them. Some are very childlike, some are very elegant, some more casual, some more sensual...some can even look very tough, like Tanner's ao or Annie's. It's all about body language. Here's an example of what an AO does to make an avatar look more life-like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk3CbiTvjdg and you can see how how my favorite AO merchant makes his animations using motion capture technology...so cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xNqKFs76BU )

The second avatar was made only a couple months ago. Again I don't know which alter made it, only that it appeared on my login screen one morning:

This avatar is a neko, but very VERY different from the neko that Annie uses. Most of her clothes are white or so pale a pastel color as to almost be white. Her AO makes her look sort of sweet and shy. I also know that she's being used very often and even has her own house in the virtual world. I still have no idea, though, what alter is using her or if it's even an alter my friends or ex-therapist has met.
