Has anyone ever felt vibration as a D.I.D

Postby INEEDTHISS » Mon Nov 03, 2014 6:34 am

I went to therapy recently and dissociated in front of my therapist... I became a little girl as we discussed my childhood. As it happened I felt I was about to burst and vibration ran throughout my body.I tried to stop myself but I couldn't it embarrases me to switch and to switch to a little girl is even more strange. I barely ever black out so i can see ppl looking at me differently but I can't control my behavior.
HAS ANYONE EVER EXPERIENCED THESE VIBRATIONS AND THE FEELING THAT YOU MAY BURST?

I can't recall a full-on vibration when switching, but sometimes when I'm caught-off guard and an Alter abruptly manages to take control of our body, I'll have a sudden "twitch" or muscle spasm that jerks my shoulders or my head. 90% of the time, if an alter gets control, I'm still co-hosting enough that I can *see* through our eyes and hear what's going on, I just can't speak for myself or move our body. I think the only times I've ever even blacked out were when I apparently *switch* while mildly-intoxicated at parties. (Friends told me about this afterwards, I'd have no memory of it.)

This is just a guess, but maybe the "vibrating and about-to-burst" feeling comes from that child Alter being so excited or hyped about getting to say something it was totally "ecstatic"? (I'm only surmising this because when I was a Child I'd get so manically-excited over some things that I would start "vibrating" and felt like I was gonna burst with joy. It just came from super-strong emotions though, not my Alters.)

A lot of times when dissociating i get a weird rumbling feeling. Like sitting on a massage chair. It's strange and it feels so real.

Also like waves of electricity that pulse throughout my body.

We get shaking sometimes when one part is suffering some sort of extreme anxiety due to a bad memory or something else. But I'm not sure if that's the type of thing you mean when you say vibration?
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.

I have different sensations based upon when, how and who is switching. One is the feeling of heaviness and tingling from the head down to the my extremities which generally happens when I feel like I am being talked through and someone else pops out to talk to the other person. This physical sense is often a companion to a period of derealization.

Then there are the times where I feel like every cell in my body is vibrating, yet I am not trembling on the outside. This normally happens when several parts are activated and I am in a partial depersonalized state. I find that I do a lot of rapid switching when this is going on.

I also sometimes experience a bursting or pushing feeling. This is when someone wants to come out and I am blocking them. I realize this is going on because I get thoughts of having to do something right then.

For me a feeling of intense pressure to the bursting point is a common experience when I resist a switch. I still don't know how to consciously not resist, which is very frustrating, as there are times in therapy that someone wants to come out but I want to let them yet at the same time I resist them.

I sometimes also have intense buzzing sensations in parts of my body. Causes of this symptom include congestion of the lymphatic system (due to infection) and severe anxiety. Sometimes, when depersonalization is severe, the buzzing will be throughout my body but usually it is limited to my pelvic area.

Neurologists group both of these symptoms, the pressure and the buzzing, with others under the broad concept of aura.

Yea some days it is more frequent than other days. I call it arousal like somebody in there my girl area, but it ain't sort of a body memory. Its happening at work during meetings only thing I do switch to make it go away before its full blown. It could be worst, a couple time I got the blurry eyes plus arousal n there my girl area. Yes, i guess long as it ain't making me overly going into some sort psychical symptom where I might faint or bout with death people should ignore me. I know when to be excused from a room or to remove myself from a job like I had to do when I worked further north , not quite the same but a psychical symptom nonetheless.

That was the exact feeling i had but this was the first time that ever happened to me. Does it ever recur at night when your trying to sleep somewhat like a seizure?

wow why haven't i heard of this before this all seems like what has been happening i didn't want the little girl to come out bc i was afraid of what my alters might do I felt it was possible one would come out and trash the T room and I'd be admitted or something it was so intense. I'm too embarrassed to go back.

Yes and one night a couple weeks ago it did progress into a seizure (or a PNES probably)

I have this one object that I was holding during some intense work i. therapy and now whenever I touch that I immediately start getting those waves again. I think they are maybe due to new connections happening or something, I'm not sure. I have a much fuzzier concept of reality when my youngest parts are out.
