Strange Occurence

Postby Lalalark » Sun Oct 08, 2006 9:46 pm

We and our friend Liz went to a conducting workshop yesterday in L.A. after the work shop we drove around and hung out in some new places and then ended the night at a book shop in pasadena.
We were just about to leave we were even in the car when Amber Ray said "OMG its Mr. Dierking!"
I looked and she was right it was my senior english teacher.
So I jumped out of the car and said "Hey Dirk"
ANyways we ended up talking and I could never lie to this man. We wrote an autobiography in his class and I couldnt lie in that and then when I was talking to him, I just let everything out.
Told him about being in the hospital, about being diagnosed a multiple, and he was totally cool about it and was talking about his problems... and how he talked about me in his class. wow I have a legacy...
But it was cool and not akward, it was a good intellectual conversation. That was awesome.
So what is the "me"?
My brain I suppose.
Because I have sort of a voice in my head, the part of me that thinks, that feels, that is aware that I exist at all.

That's wonderful!! :)
I'm so happy for you that your senior English teacher was so accepting, and that the conversation wasn't awkward at all. Good thing Amber Ray saw him! It's good to know that there are people in the world who can accept multiples and don't back away the minute they hear the word. And it's good to have people around like that, who you can have an intellectual conversation with without being judged. We're very glad for you all that you came across him :)

Did he say what my friend said when I told him I'm multiple? "Mike, when it comes to you, nothing surprises me"

Kaizo how old are you? It may have to do with your age.

A lot of my friends were very intrigued and asked questions. My teacher was not surprised I think that the DX of DID explains so much about me and how I was in high school. It was really nice to see him.
So what is the "me"?
My brain I suppose.

I ask your age because teenagers, which I suspected your hosts friends are, tend to be very self centered and can not concentrate on problems outside of their personal realm of understanding. You may have told them but they may not even know what that means so you are not going to get acceptance and support because they dont understand. I hope that being here helps you feel a little more supported. I hope your friends will come to understand this part of you and help to support you. Good luck.

Glad it was so nice to see your teacher and that you being multiple did nothing else than make perfect sense to him. It's good you have such understanding people in your environment :)

That sounds like a really "yeah whatever, next topic.."-teenage response indeed Kaizo. Hope it doesn't trouble you guys?

And Mike, thát's what you call an amusing response
