Introductions :)

Hey,
My name is Erin and I am undiagnosed DID. I am currently setting up an appointment and I am going to see if I will get diagnosed or not. In the mean time since I know that I am living with 16 others, I decided I might as well find a home in the midst of it all. So I am the host, I was the soul that originally inhabited the body. I am Dx ADHD, OCD, Minor Depressive, General Anxiety, and Trichatillamania. I have dealt with Anxiety all my life and so I guess you could say that is my speciality in the system. I tend not to run things, I let a few others do that. I draw my happiness from the littles since I tend to be depressed and anxiety ridden most of the time. I really lean a lot on my alters for help. I like that they are there to get me through life. Although sometimes I wish I had more privacy!

I think I have realized something was different for avout 5 years now, I just havent really come to terms with it. I met my first alter Alyssa in 9th grade so 2009-10. I just thought that she was a character I started writing about, but once I realized all I had was her bio and I didn't really have much of story I knew there was something else there. In 11th grade, so a year and a half ago, I found more alters and I started to chat with them. I still didn't realize what was going on, but we worked well together and I let them come out sometimes. Now I I recently figured out what is going on and have accepted it wholeheartedly, which is apparently a big relief to my alters. I asked a couple friends if they noticed differences in my personality sometimes and they mentioned a couple of traits that lined up with a few of the main ones. One even said it was like I had another personality all together sometimes. That is what kind of confirmed it almost. I recently mentioned to my Mom that I might have DID and she said I have never shown the signs. I think that I have just hidden it really well around my family, and I stay myself around them, or the few Main's will know to act like me. I hope that if I am diagnosed that she accepts it.

Leiaya here, a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am a part of the Fae, a nicer variety though. I am calm and entrancing. I do not have a yearage, it is more a sorts of maturity and wisdom do us Fae go by. If one wishes to place a yearage on me, it would be around 16 in permanence. My name is Natalia. I love little kids and helping others. I would volunteer all the time if i could honestly. I am the more gentle and submissive side. Oh, and I am 16 years old.

What up dudes and dudettes!! They call me Blade, mostly because I have one stuck in my side that can not be surgically removed or it would kill me. I am the rebellious side. Run around and get in trouble. Typical teenager. I am the party of the house and I have to keep Erin distracted and make her let loose sometimes so she can chillax and be a kid again! I am 17 years old and I love skateboarding and video games. Apparently I am also pretty smart when I wanna be. Peace guys!

Hello Erin et al. Welcome to the DID Forum. It is not unusual for our families to be unaware of our switching. That's because we may not switch around them, or we may switch so consistently that our overall behavior seems to have continuity.

At home I rarely switch but I switch at work all the time. My coworkers do not know me outside of work so they never see me being radically different. Most do see something when I switch in front of them but don't recognize what they see. After I began outing myself a few years ago some of them have begun to recognize the switches.
