An allergy he didn't tell me about (explaining rant)

Right, so Viktor apparently was in the mood for chocolate, since he's having his period.
Don't ask me how that's possible since his anatomy is a man's.

Anyhow, I didn't find it strange so I let him have it.
The problem was that there's trails of nuts in the chocolate bar, and what Viktor didn't tell me was that he's allergic to nuts. *shakes head*
Since I noticed that he was starting to have a harder time to breathe, and the taste of nuts in our mouth felt unusually strong, I asked him if that was the case, which he confirmed rather miserably.
(To be honest, I don't get why he never told me.
And at his age, shouldn't he have known better?)
So, I took over the front while Viktor was in the hospital getting a shot.
When he started to feel better I told him to not eat anything with nuts without discussing it with me first.
Since I don't have allergy to nuts, I'm free to eat it in his place.

Well, my question was: Do any of you experience/have experienced stuff like this with one or more of your alters?
If so, do you think my action/decision was a wise thing to do, or should I have acted differently?
Oh, and I didn't raise my voice or lose my temper.
I merely stated calmly why indigestion of things you're allergic to is a bad idea.

I don't think my alters have any allergy (or if they do, I'm unaware). I think your reaction was appropriate so that Victor understands that his allergy affects the whole system and can cause major harm if not treat right away when triggered.
I have ADHD. Possibly have another mental disorder but am not certain.

I have a severe allergy to an insect, and my reactions have varied a lot over the years. it's been confusing, actually. Lately I noticed that I had a reaction, and then another part took over (in this case so that I was not really present), and the reaction cooled completely. When I came back, though, it continued from where it had been when I "left."

It's good you reminded Viktor to be careful.

Viola :

I know what you mean. The only alters I know for certain is allergic is Viktor (nuts) and Kimberly (perfume).
Ah, I too am allergic, to oranges (and by default, other citrus fruits)
but I think that one is because that's the only allergy our body is allergic to.
How it's possible for alters to be allergic, is one of the things I probably never will understand, but I accept it as a fact. *nods*

Nonedescript(since I don't know your name) :
I see. That's the same with us. When Viktor came back, I asked him to be in the background while I finished the chocolate and he didn't feel anything from that, because apparently even if the other alters are present, if they're not in the driver's seat, they don't feel the same thing as the driver.

Like, I smoke, but Felicia doesn't. If she's in front she feels the effect of the cigarettes,
but if she's only "with" me, but not in total control, she can't.

Yes, cuz that wasn't an overly pleasant experience, for either of us.

The body itself has been diagnosed with 27 different allergies. 16 of that is environmental, and 7 more are just other things you might come in contact with (latex, metals, etc). We all do react to those things, but there are some that we've just discovered on our own:

Angel is more allergic to nickel than the rest of us. She can't wear the watch we have for more than an hour or else she gets a rash. The rest of us can go all day before getting that rash.

Alexa is allergic to watermelons, although I'm not sure what her reaction is. It's a bad allergy, though.

Riley 2 is allergic to caffeine. She gets extremely nauseas for hours after she eats it.

I (Kat) am allergic to some kind of oil they use in foods. It's not canola or vegetable oil, but something like that.

I've always thought it was interesting how allergies work in a system.

Yeah. I think someone in our system is allergic to cigarette smoke since I start having a bad coughing fit if I smell cigarette smoke and feel nauseous. I remember I broke out in a rash when I used a certain brand of lotion on my skin and I don't know why.

The body is, for certain, allergic to coconut/palm. Which is a pain in the butt, as you'll know if you've ever read ingredient lists, I'm personally allergic to certain perfumes and fragrances, plus a heightened sense of smell tends to cause me to dislike them in general. My sisters are generally kind enough not to use them, though they don't bother anyone else.

Thank you all for your replies. It's helped shed some light to the "problem". :)

Ah, and chococat:
Our body is, aside from the orange allergy, also (highly) allergic to nickel, to the point we can't wear silver (there's nickel in silver. Very little, but enough for us to have an allergic reaction).
I don't know why I couldn't remember that until I saw your post.
I guess I'm the "amnesiac alter" aside from working as the Host.
