Re: Songs that remind you of DID

Found this thread again because I wanted to post a song in here!

From when I listened to it I started really liking it, but when I checked the lyrics (like 4 years ago or even more) they resonated so much with me and I didn't have an idea as to why they felt so relatable. I was like "what do I mean when I say there's another one inside of me? Why do I relate so much though?"
I started putting it everywhere, from agendas to shoes to everything.
Listening to it with the knowledge I have now, it just all makes sense. It's still very calming and comforting to me.

The song is an anime opening from a sort of horror anime (Tokyo Ghoul) that many people know about.
I'll post the translation here in case somebody wants to read it. It's a bit sad but what good song isn't.

Tell me, please tell me, what this plot is all about.. Exactly, who resides within me?
I'm broken, so broken - amidst this world. Yet you laugh, blind to everything.

Being as broken as I am, I hold my breath,
And it can't be unraveled, it can no longer be unraveled.. Not even the truth. (Freeze)
Breakable; unbreakable - psychotic; unable to go insane
I found you, and..!

In this shaken, twisted world, I gradually become transparent, unable to be seen.
Please don't bother looking for me; don't stare at me..
I merely don't want to hurt you, inside a world, that came out of someone's imagination.
So please remember me; as vivid as I was.

Infinitely spreading, solitude wraps around me. Memories of times I laughed innocently comes to mind,
And I can't move, can't move, can't move, can't move, can't move, I cannot move!
Unravelling the world

I've changed; I couldn't go back to the way I was.
As the two twines around one another, the both of us will perish away..
Breakable; unbreakable - psychotic; unable to go insane
I can't afford to let you be defiled!

In this shaken, twisted world, I gradually become transparent, unable to be seen.
Please don't bother looking for me; don't stare at me..
In a trap of solitude someone had set, before the future unravels,
Remember me; as vivid as I was.

Please don't forget me, don't forget me, don't forget me, don't forget me!

Paralyzed by the fact that I've changed,
In a paradise filled with nothing but unrecoverable things,
Please remember me.

Tell me, please tell me.. Exactly, who resides within me?

All these songs are so good! For me honestly "You're Somebody Else" by Flora Cash is so great.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVdPh2cBTN0

Some lyrics:

I saw the part of you
That only when you're older you will see too
You will see too
I held the better cards
But every stroke of luck has got a bleed through
It's got a bleed through
You held the balance of the time
That only blindly I could read you
But I could read you
It's like you told me
Go forward slowly
It's not a race to the end
Well you look like yourself
But you're somebody else
Only it ain't on the surface
Well you talk like yourself
No, I hear someone else though
Now you're making me nervous
You were the better part
Of every bit of beating heart that I had
Whatever I had
I finally sat alone
Pitch black flesh and bone
Couldn't believe that you were gone
Much has changed, we are multiple, call us Rory please

I kinda like this one... even though it's soooo not my kinda music (Kitten likes this softer kinda stuff a lot more).

These lines though:
"I'm tryin' to tell you somethin' 'bout my life
Maybe give me insight between black and white
And the best thing you've ever done for me
Is to help me take my life less seriously"

and
"And the less I seek my source for some definitive
The closer I am to fine, yeah"

Gathering the pieces of a broken heart - the King's parade
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWIlSH4BIS0

I've been gathering the pieces of a broken heart
From happiness to weakness
I'm finding every part
You wouldn't guess how many pieces
Form a broken heart
I've been searching over seasons
When did it even start
I'm missing a part
Tell me when will it be found
Cause I've been searching for the true colours
Hidden in the dark

That is so freakishly close to us trying to work with those fragments/parts that are so hard for us to reach...

I don't remember the name of the song however it was a song about ignoring the voices in your head. But of course you really shouldn't ignore them especially when they are trying to work together with you.
Though I do believe I can relate to the song Monster by Skillet. It talks about the monster inside and it really makes you think about the manipulators or the troublemakers. It also states that you are fighting your inner demons and you fear of letting them out or to the surface.

I also think there was a song called Inner Demons but I don't know who it was by.
