leaking migrane

Postby mnb » Sun Jun 29, 2014 12:51 pm

Hi everyone, my husband is experiencing debilitating migranes....we are currently waiting for our therapist appointment and i really need some online support while we wait.

He experiences a leaking, dripping feeling in his head. Right in the centre he says it feels like a constant drip of silken liquid. He often moves his head around trying to 'drain' the feeling away from the source.

My husband has a medical degree which is making things hard in a way....because he knows how unpure most medicines are that are prescribed for this pain...
This is contraversial....but in the same way medicinal mairujuana aids MS, he belives the structure of pure methalanphetamine may be helping his headaches.

This is very very contraversial and worrying for me...however i believe there are many many unorthadox aids un the world.

I am observant (i discovered his DID) and i have learnt to trust my inhibition.....he truly truly seems more aware and in less pain when he smokes meth....he explains it as if the hose leaking in his head is turned off, and he can remember everything (tested by me, the explanation if memory is true)

This is not something he wants to do, he tells me that drugs are for junkies...but what if it is actually helping. Im no idiot i no how addictive it is...but also notice a dramatic difference in my husbands overalll quality of life.

Who else has experience in headaches, the distinct feeling of a headache, pressure in ears and medicatiions?

Thanks, from a worried and open minded wife

I have gotten headaches whenever there is any struggle over who is in control of the body, as have many others on this board. We've referred to it as a DID headache and it is distinct from a tension, tired or too-much-computer-screen headache.

Could these migraines be related to his DID? Quite possibly they are. In that case masking the pain with a dangerous drug instead of investigating it directly isn't the answer.

I've had flashbacks of specific head pain that I know happened during abuse. These have included the sensation of warm liquid in and on my head, a very icky feeling. Somatic sensations and pains of all kinds are so common in DID.

When I have extremely low energy and despair, I know that eating a half dozen brownies, a quart of ice cream or a cake (and I mean the whole cake) is guaranteed to turn off the deadness like a switch. But there are serious costs to my body that I'm not considering adequately at the time. I'm pretty sure that the net effect of meth is even worse than all that sugar and fat.

People trained in medicine or pharmacology often approach any type of pain from the POV of what medicine will help. You say his migraines are debilitating (so is meth over time), painful and weird, but it doesn't sound like they're intolerable. Has he tried communicating with his alters? For me personally, this has lessened virtually any pain I've had.
Dx = DID. My blog. My personal Periodic Table of 78 alters.
