Faking it or not, it indicates that they have a problem. Either they have DID or they don't and think they do or maybe they are just faking it for attention. If any of the above is true then this is a person who could help.
I'd take anyone serious who is claiming to be suicidal.

So would I. However, I would not advise anyone who is not trained in at least suicide prevention from trying to help a suicidal person beyond encouraging them to seek help from someone who does know how to help.
