I got this idea from one of the other threads, about "host changing and not knowing", one of the members posted something to do with fugue states.
I've read up on dissociative fugue, but without going into that section of the forum, what can anyone here tell me about fugue states? How quickly do they come on? Do you still sometimes have memories of your current life, but have still left to create a new life? How long can it last?
I have sometimes thought that is what happened to my SO, who has DID, and abruptly left to start a new life; I always assumed it was a host change. I've seen bits of him surface..it's like he's underwater and comes up every now and then to contact me before disappearing again. I wonder if this is anything like a fugue state, though.
Thank you!

Hi there,
If you Pop next door there is a dissociative fugue posting board. at the to of this board it said 'about this drumforum' and had loads of concise information.
dissociative-fugue/topic40044.html#p267289just my 2 pence worth I don't think it is because this fugue means the persons always drives our travels hundreds of miles away from there original life, creates a new identity and starts again.
The distance isn't an always but the change of place and culture/social group keep is changed 100%
They will almost always change there name but only if they have a fixed identity already.
I just thought I would mention those two things add I have read Your story and felt they would be relevant.
Hope it all helps.

http://my.clevelandclinic.org/disorders ... fugue.aspxI found very interesting what Jake said:
"The distance isn't an always but the change of place and culture/social group keep is changed 100%

Thanks for bringing up the topic. Made me think about my situation.
Sending you the best energy Patience, and thanks Jake for mentioning this, was SO important for me.
