4 new alters this week *possible trigger warning*

Postby nothingelsematters » Sun Oct 27, 2013 6:21 am

Hello all. I have had four new alters show up this week. I have been relatively stable for awhile and all of the sudden...BAM. Three of them are between 3 and 5 years old and the fourth appears to be a teen but a lot have come forward as teens and turn out to be quite young. I'm not sure what is going on and I'm wondering if it has something to do with Halloween. Has anyone else had more parts come forward this time of year?

We've had groups come forwards before. It can be confusing and chaotic as heck. In a very short time, what I'd like to think of as a large portion of our system came forward and we've read about others on this forum having the same sort of experience.
I found that some of our newbies take on a form that is more comforting to the others initially while they introduce themselves, then they 'shift' into their actual form afterwards. We've also had the opposite experience where members 'shift' into very frightening forms to try to scare us, then reveal themselves to not be scary at all once they get more comfortable.

Often times new system members will front/show themselves for the first time for a few reasons:
a) They are triggered out by a date or event
b) They feel the rest of the system is ready to learn of their existence without being overly traumatized
c) They wish to heal and ease their personal suffering, so they front so they are better able to receive aid
d) They are just plain sick of hiding

We haven't had that many in a week, but we've had 4 new ones in the past month. It was scaring me, because I was used to there only being 7 of us, and now there are 11, and I was worried that we were going to keep splitting. Our newest alter, Calypso, says that she was the last one for a while, though. Anyway, my point is that I'm pretty sure it can be normal to have a bunch of alters make themselves known at once, especially for the reasons Familyof3 listed.
DID system of 20. Host generally posts; if otherwise, it will be stated. Other mental health issues include; borderline personality disorder, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, PTSD, emotional detachment, and others experienced by alters.

The most I've had is about 7 in a week I think?

A friend of mine found out about ~ 20 in a few days (that were spent with us).
