This reminds us of a video demonstration we saw online. The speaker took a bottle of fizzy drink and shook it up. Then she opened the lid a little but had to close it again to let the drink settle down. Then she would open it a little more, you have to keep opening it in small amounts and letting it settle in between. It shows us and therapists how we approach things little by little as you were saying....I loved the visual representation (and sometimes can't drink a fizzy drink without thinking about it) :D
