Talking?

Postby tragic guardian » Wed Aug 28, 2013 6:25 am

I never have anyone to talk to. It's really painful. Especially because I don't come through often, and when I do, it's short, unless I got som eone to talk to to help keep me out. I'm just out now because this movie on now. But I can never find anyone in time either way. I'll be gone again soon unless someone manages to bring me.out somehow or something.

Hi, Duke. So many of us can sympathize. It may take some time but you can make connections and even friends. Don't give up!

I wrote a post a couple years ago about a dilemma for one of our major alters, Jack. He's an 11-year-old kid in the body of a middle-aged man. To make matters worse, the host is an academic in the Boston area whereas Jack is a hillbilly child who speaks the non-standard Appalachian dialect, and a rather archaic version at that, learned from a very old man when we were young. He speaks in a pitch almost too high for a grown man and he can't quite pass as an adult because he can't process some adult concepts. On top of all that, he is extremely gregarious and has been desperate to talk to almost anyone, perhaps like you.

He's had just a couple chances until a few months ago but now regularly interacts with our DID employee/housemate from this board. And today for the first time, he interacted -- as himself -- for about an hour with a tour guide who speaks a lot like him at a farm in eastern Kentucky where they re-enact Appalachian living from ~150 years ago.

Hopefully you don't have anything near those complications for you. It may seem unlikely but you can meet people if your system supports it and can help make it happen. Jack is why we're even vacationing in Kentucky and we came here specifically to create opportunities like this one. We're probably going to church for him tomorrow and some of us are extremely uncomfortable with religion. Systems evolve and allowing everyone to express themselves safely is important.

Thanks Johnny. I read your post but i'm going to wait for Duke to hopefully calm down before posting, i don't want him driving people away, since i know he doesn't want that.

Hey, is there anyone that can talk to me now, or soon? I'd really like to talk a bit. I have no one else to talk to and i don't feel to well. Also would like to discuss DID and doubts around it, and also accusations against it. Just upset.

[Not sure who this is, sorry.]
