New T. psych eval. Actual diagnosis

Postby CreepyAlice » Tue Jul 16, 2013 9:27 pm

Several Dr. appointments and a new T later.. I have an actual diagnosis
He said that all of my paranoia is just, due to past trauma and he does not feel I have schizophrenia
:P

He says I do however have PTSD partnered with severe anxiety and D.I.D.

I am allowed to continue my natural OTC vitamin and melatonin regimen..
however prescribed low dose Xanax, stating it is as needed but recommends trying it, cause it will prob help the anxiety.

He says i need to see him every two weeks and scheduled dates out to November .. which means I have to go or it will effect my seeing him at little to no cost to me. Sneaky.

He says that I need to talk to him about the girls, but the girls dont like him right yet. He asked their names and then he got Christine's name wrong .. after I corrected him once and he saw how it frustrated us. He keeps telling us how we r all a part of one person .. And that makes us angry. But he also said that Christine and the girls dont ever have to go away. just Hang out together at the same time. Which I dont see happening .. but he's the T :?

:D For the diagnosis
:? For him, as it sounds like he's not saying what you want to hear (whether he's right or not is another matter)

I know its something that needs to happen .. but the girls are NOT ready to hear that their way isnt necessarily the right way. When confronted with "Now how is that possible?" or "You realize most people wouldnt stand for that?" They get VERY irritated. We really dont like to be questioned.. cause then we have to explain. and we cant

It's good to hear that you have an official diagnosis now in that it will help with your therapy process. I also personally find it's quite validating to have a diagnosis, so hopefully you might be finding that too...

In relation to him questioning you that is part of his job to point out inconsistencies in your (or their) thinking through that gentle questioning. If you have difficulty explaining that is supposed to help you think to a deeper level so that you can get to a point where you will progress with things. So even though it might feel uncomfortable sometimes, it is for your benefit ultimately...
In a way, I am not defined by my dissociation. In a way, I am.
