A Sick Personality?

Postby TheTwistedMPD » Wed Jun 26, 2013 8:52 pm

So hello.
I'm extremely new here, but I figured that this would be the place I'd most likely get good answers from.
My name is Damian, and I'm pretty lost.

Basically, I'm sick. I'm a personality to a 22 year old female (IJ), she has 2 other personalities, and I myself have 4 personalities, but I don't think that really matters.

I'm not sure what's going on, Over the last two weeks or three, I just feel myself getting weaker and weaker, sicker and sicker. I can't stay out and in control as long as I used to be able to, and simply staying out now exhausts both me and IJ.

At first I thought I was a dying personality, then I started doing research on it and it seems that personalities rarely just die, so then I figured maybe it was a 'going dormant' thing. But as I'm getting sicker, I've gotten a type of 'heads up' about it, and I didn't figure that if I was going dormant, I'd get that type of heads up about it so now I'm just lost and confused on what to expect. So I came here, hoping for answers as you all are my best shots.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? Have you or any of your personalities ever experienced something like this? Is there a way to stop it or know what's going to happen for sure?

I'd really appreciate all of your answers, a lot. Thank you.

We have one that went dormant. I can't remember her getting sick, but she did get a lot weaker before she went away. She also seemed to know that she didn't have much time left, judging by the importance of, and the way in which she performed her final actions. Have you tried asking one of the others; They might have more insight into what's happening cause they see it from another angle. Maybe it's good to look into why you're getting weaker/sicker. Maybe it's because your role isn't needed anymore as it was with one of our other people. At that point he was given the choice to either fade, or find a new role. Every system is different though so it might well be something very different. I'm just trying to remember what happened to ours in case it applies here.

Also welcome :)

You could be going dormant, yes.
It is possible that you are going to die and go back to being a part of the rest of the brain, though I dont know how likely that is.
You might start to get better, too.

*trigger warning(?)*
I have been internally sick before.
I didn't know what was going on and kept getting worse.
I wound up dying inside, but that was a metamorphosis for me and also for the system.
I'm not saying that's what's happening to you, just that its a possibility.

Hi, Damian. We've only had one of us (me, the host) get "sick" and need tending inside. It coincided with a planned day where Jack was to be out hiking with a friend. I suspect it was our mind's symbolic way of changing things so that my automatic and domineering control as host would be disabled. For the first time in many years, an alter would be in control of the body for a long period of time. Jack was very inexperienced at that point but we knew he would at least be safe. It seemed like a big risk but one worth taking and it turned out okay.

In Tarot, another symbolic system, the Death card doesn't usually signify death but the end of something, perhaps a transformation. No idea if that's what's happening with you but it's true that the "death" of an alter actually means they're not there. Daniel "died" decades ago but he was never really gone. Right now he's active (though not so much the past month as others demand time) and probably has the strongest desire for life of any of us.
