Not
understand!!!!!!

WHY???!!

Why so many threads about same topic???!!!!!!

Why so much negative stuff that deal with same stuff???!!!!

Are us all triggering each other???!!!!!

WHAT IS GOING ON???!!!!

Tell each other advice like not focus too much on negative yet all post here is negative and serious and triggering!!!!

SHAY SO CONFUSED BOUT THIS THAT SHAY ABLE TO HYPER FOCUS ANDTYPE RIGHT BUT NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT

SO MANY THREADS ABOUT THE SAME TOPIC!!!!

SO MUCH CONFUSING STUFF!!!!!

SO MANY SERIOUS AND TRIGGERING THREADS AND TOPICS!!!!!

This supposed be support place right??

This supposed be help place right??

It help to not focus on negative so why all threads lately so negative??!!

Maybe us trigger us too much??!!

Seem like one person start have hard time then everyone start have hard time sometimes!!

Not understand!!

AND WHY SO MANY THREADS ABOUT SAME OR SIMILAR TOPICS??!!!

Not understand!!!

Make one thread and keep to that thread or look around for threads that maybe can help that about same or similar stuff!!

SO MANY REPEAT THREADS WITH SAME UPDATES ON THEM!!

NOT UNDERSTAND WHY!!

Shay know DID stuff hard

Shay KNOW

But Shay not understand why it seem like every little time something hard come along a post is made about it!!

TRY WORK IT OUT SELF FIRST!!

TRY LOOKING AROUND FORUM FIRST FOR SIMILAR THREADS!!

TRY LOOKING IN RESOURCE THREAD AT TOP!!

Shay and system have lots help from this place

BUT also have do lots of stuff on own!!

And figure stuff out and work through on own!!

Shay not think this place for holding hands and feeding answers and helping all time with every little thing!!

This place for help and support yes but that not mean there won't be stuff people have do for selves and that things will be easy just because might find answers here!!

Try find answers self first!!

Try letting things be and working stuff out and finding clues and sometimes being clueless for self first!!

NOT EVERYTHING HAS IMMEDIATE ANSWER OR SOLUTION ALL TIME!! NOT EVERYTHING IS EASY ALL TIME!! CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT BE HELPED ALL TIME!! MUST DO SOME THINGS FOR SELF!!

You're right, Shay. I understand the frustration and really plan to start making happier post's. Lately I've been going through a rough patch, but making threads just moping definitely won't help improve the situation. Negativity is contagious and I think that the fact that there are so many negative threads on here is spreading it around.

From here on out we all pledge to start writing happier threads. ^ ^

i'm not saying i was the only one doing this, but i know i've been contributing to this, and i'm sorry shay, and to everyone else...

i just really needed help and support and then i felt like the scale of how much i needed help and support wasn't being really recognized    and i know it can be hard to read threads after they have too many pages and so i started other threads about struggles that had stemmed from the original struggles and threads...

so i'll try to combine my threads a bit and we'll all try to start focusing more on the positive stuff and not only posting about struggles...   (it's just hard since lately it seems like there's only been struggles for me/us...   )

I know I've played a huge part in this. I tend to hyper focus on the bad things and forget the good. I'm sorry, Shay.

I'm sorry, Shay...
I mean it. It's just that I feel like some of this is my fault, starting all these threads and having minimal posts on them. We'll try to do better.
Nice to see you posting again, though not under these conditions.

hi shay -

maybe shay should stay off computer -
then you won't see negative threads -
it's overstimulation -
too much information etc -
but i also think this is a good place for people to voice their negative thoughts -
i see both sides -
hope you feel better-
xxoo

Re: Rant About Forum- So Much Serious/Triggery Threads- TW

Postby lifelongthing » Sun Apr 14, 2013 6:42 am

I'm sorry, but I don't agree that there needs to be a balance here.

This is a place for support - and I think that whatever kind of support people need, even if that means making multiple threads about similar topics, should be respected and tried to be understood for what it is: a cry for help.

Not everyone is comfortable going into other's threads with their own experiences (so called "hijacking a thread") or think that the advice offered to others might not apply to them for x y z reasons.

I think many people who have come here are here because this is the place they find when they hit the bottom: when they are scared and confused and need help. They may or may not even have time to sift through lots of topics and while the resource thread at the top is good to look through, I don't think there should be a requirement that it's looked through (not saying you're saying this by the way). Some alters front for very short times and maybe don't have time to look through threads at all or even know what others here have written inside or out of their system. People post what they post for a reason.

I also think many of us here try to keep a positive attitude in our daily lives, try to work on ourselves; and then come here when it's too much, when you're confused or too tired to think for yourselves, when you can no longer just be positive or do your best.

I also think some make new threads because they want more replies. This is natural and fair and I don't see a problem with it, at least not up to a certain amount. Yes, I do however see that it can be frustrating to see the same topic, by the same person covered in multiple threads - most of all because it's hard to know what to answer to where. But in the end, we are multiples and sometimes the other thread has been made by a different alter, or someone felt a need to do it like that for a reason.

This is a place for support. I think it's better to support everyone where they are, even if that means some confusion, negativity etc. If people are triggered and then make new posts and something similar etc then that's fine by me - we all have had a hard enough life as it is, we're just trying to get by as best as possible. If you wish to see more positive stuff here, write more positive stuff :) That's the best way to make positivity spread, I think.

That's what I think though

My guess is people don't do it to be repetitive. instead, it's maybe:
1) they don't have time to filter through the forum to see if this has been mentioned before, since posts do cycle out
2) maybe they are in a crisis and need to speak and aren't in the mental space to sort through the forum beforehand
3) they feel rude to hop into a thread and basically start talking about their own stuff when that thread is a space for someone else to get support, even if they are struggling with the same things
4) even though i like my historical denial and all that jazz, it's basically understood that DID is here because sh*t happened and when that stuff resurfaces, it's not a happy time. so at any given time, probably someone here is struggling BAD with some stuff, and they should always have space here to talk about it. And if person-X just found out about event-Y but person-Z has already read a different system post about their experience with Y, its not guaranteed that X knows anyone here posted about it before (and maybe Z is off dancing with pixies in a meadow, so nobody is the wiser). it's tough talking about that stuff...i don't wanna believe 99% of what happened in our collective history, so having a place on here to get support and process all of it (reference reason 3) is super meaningful. especially with trigger-y depressive stuff, i think it's important to be cool with repetitive threads.

I dunno...there are lots of common problems and experiences and stuff so it should be expected. and how we experience these similar problems will probably have different gradations that change depending on the system and the circumstance and so there is probably knowledge to gain even when the theme of the post has been put up here before.

it's never really bugged me, i figured people just wanted a place to say their stuff in their own little corner of this forum. i could see why it might frustrate other people, but since this is an open forum and we are multiples and the same issue could be talked about by 10 different Others on 10 different threads, it seems unavoidable to a certain extent.

sorry its getting to you tho.
