How to find a therapist

Here is another search strategy. In many smaller countries there will be a national association of professionals, that is the same as or closely related to the national licensing body. Look for a national psychiatry association, or a national psychology association. You can contact the association's administrative office to ask for contacts (not necessarily referrals) in your area. The office may have only a part time manager so don't expect an immediate reply. This works also for many states and provinces that have their own professional associations.
