my kid loves to cook. but she hates me telling her what to do.

so I ordered this recipe box thing. that has 3 meals a week. and she is listening to music and grating lime zest for taco-dillas. and she's so ######6 happy cooking off that recipe card.

sometimes i feel like a good parent.

BeccaBee that sounds like a lotta fun and we're glad your kid is happy! Sounds to us like you're a great mom! :D

---

We've been feeling really tired & lazy & unmotivated last 2 days.

Like yesterday we barely did anything. In the morning we had to go out of town for a stupid errand, and were near the mother's place so we stopped for a little visit since we were nearby. Scored some points with her I guess. But that was kinda it for the day, just tired and zero energy after that.

Viola kinda joined me in the afternoon & convinced me to just like slack off and goof off and be naughty and stuff. :?

Now this morning, feeling the same again - zero energy, zero motivation. Got a ton of stuff to do tho and it just.. meh. :(

Kinda excited this morning! Its a holiday here and we're gonna go visit our best friend, go for a hike, and have a big sushi lunch! :D

Its probably the last time this year for the hiking, and depending how busy her work gets might be our last meet-up this year. :?

We hope everyone else has a good day today too! :D

Happy Labo(u)r Day to all who observe it.

We're feeling meh. Not getting anywhere with making things better. Feeling empty and hopeless. :|

Good on your daughter, BeccaBee, for doing something that she enjoys. And good on you for encouraging her.

I had a really, really good day yesterday. Saw our best friend, we did like a 4km hike through the woods and we bot got blisters on our feet lol.

Then we had sushi for lunch, and it was good. But they didn't have good desert options, and a lotta stuff was closed cos it was a holiday. We ended up at a frozen yogurt place which was kinda neat.

Melissa took over and our friend saw it was Melissa before I even realized I wasn't in control any more. It was like a 'build your own desert' place, and then they just like weigh the thing and thats how you pay and we put them down on the counter and our friend laughed cos hers was all like, subtle and neat and tidy and whatever and ours was a bunch of flavours mashed together and covered in a million sprinkles. :D

Melissa really liked it tho, she said it was way more fun than just getting an icecream cos she got to build it herself and everything, and then she got to talk to our friend for a while.

Then we went to our friends house and i stayed way too late just talking and stuff. Like it was 2 hours past our bedtime before we even started for home. :D Now I'm really tired and our feet hurt and we feel kinda sick but I'm sooo happpy haha.

We just took in the mail. Imagine our surprise to receive a check from the IRS, a full four and a half months after paying our taxes.

No explanatory note, just a check for $21.41. Or as Joseph sees it, four trips to Taco Bell. :)

$$$ Cha-CHING!!! $$

V2, glad to hear you had a good day!

BeccaBee, that sounds really hard. I hope you're okay.

MDs, so will you be going to Taco Bell? :)

I'm struggling with staying emotionally grounded. I feel like I have to be, in order to be good at my job. There is no choice. But that approach forms a ridge between trauma parts and daily life parts, because either of those times feel "unreal" to the other party. It's like it's going to be a mystery how things will go and how I'll feel, and whether I can count on my skills/brain to function. I wonder whether therapy is just a disturbance or whether it can bring relief. I want to make wise choices.
