HI Arielle welcome to the forum! :D

Hi Gang Hope you managed to enjoy some of Thanksgiving despite your hubby getting covid. We don't really celebrate it here, not big on Halloween either.

Xmas was our big stress event when we had a much bigger family (before bro divorced) with 10-12 people and the inlaws kids ...now its a much quieter and less stressful event thankfully! ..just us and bro and sometimes a gf of his if he happens to be with someone...so the shopping is much less stressful too!

We pre-agree on exchanging one or two gifts each of us needs or would like so that removes anxiety..... only have our own doggy to buy for then too and he's easily pleased!!! ...anything ball shaped and/or tasty (dog treats) are top of his list! :D

We also sponsor a couple of dogs at a rescue and send them a box of older toys (still in new condition), blankets and food/xmas themed treats etc. That way if we do get our dog something he never really takes to or a doggy puzzle thats just way too easy for him, we just put it aside for the sponsor dogs for xmas and its not wasted.

Hi Systems,

Dx'ed since 2012, recently I started creating alters at an alarming pace. It is either that or that I'm facing those the communication is intended for I'm not really clear what is the issue. The world wants to claim that as creating and alter to. So couple that with how you explain, it is really a challenge on what to do about it . I'm about 800 alters strong now, and don't want to keep censoring myself from the world like it was the very beginning.

This happened to us when we started to go through peri menopause. I wonder if there is a connection between when people realise/find more alters and what is going on in the body? Even a male body will have changing hormone levels as they age or other things such as stress may have an impact such as if cortisol and adrenaline levels are always high?? (due to life situations work, poverty, abuse/gaslighting may still be going on etc)

Alot of people seem to discover they have alters in their 30's, 40's and beyond. I wonder if anyone has studied whether there is a biological connection especially considering early high levels of stress in infancy (due to ongoing abuse or medical trauma) causes it in the first place?

Too right. I had a few hot flashes past 50.

I used to be under near-constant, intense work stress. When it reached its peak (after the aforementioned hormonal changes, by the way) I began to exhibit some sort of let's say OSDD-ish behavior (*I* was never fully unaware to my knowledge), and when those stressors ceased, it quickly subsided. I still don't know for sure what was going on with me.

I'm sure there must be a connection somewhere???...we had more alters being created in the teen years (puberty) than any other peiod of life, then things settled down and we think Thea and Maddie were integrations of the most social alters..(though some remained seperate inside).

The peri menopause starting was the next time several started to come to the front who had spent years inside and had no idea how much time had passed. I never had kids so no idea how pregnancy may have affected us and if we would have found out much sooner if it had triggered some kind of psychosis symptoms?

We're still waiting for the bed to get sorted. The man was going to send us pics/video of the bed working then order a mattress of our choice but he hasn't got back to us with the video yet. It's annoying as there's no way we'll get this type of bed for this price in the shops so we can't just go elsewhere and be able to afford the same bed!

We have managed to get food in and some waterproof over trousers (as our other pair had ripped right down the leg) before the snow is due to arrive.

Yesterday we (all of TS inc LS and Kate) managed to get a nice long walk out together and we played some of LS' Evertree game with her and did some colouring. TL are still enjoying their 'virtual holiday' but will be back to help us when we get news about when the bed is coming!

We're working on them being able to come out without anxiety, pain, or feeling we could be in danger triggering them out, just to be able to enjoy some time out doing what they want.

We need to get kitchen tidied today though as need someone to come and look at the kitchen tap it feels loose and the floor under the sink seems to get wet even when we try to use it carefully when we need water. We're planning to batch cook some curries today too so they can be in the slow cooker cooking while we get on with the sorting/cleaning.

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

TS.

Um I'm gonna post here because I'm not sleeping good tonight because of the pain but it's so late (11pm) and my bed time is normally 9:30pm (I know most people with adult bodies can stay up later) because I we get tired real easy and we take meds to help us sleep and stuff because of the nightmares. Trying to do things to get tireder so I can sleep again

Um the pain's real stupid, we got surgery a almost 2 months ago to get our willy removed and there's still so much pain and it's just so stupid but we see the doctor again in febuary and maybe heel know what's wrong and why the pains so bad but until then the nurses bring out a bottel of morphine forme eech week and I gotta drink from it like 3 or 4 times a day to not cry but only small amounts eeech time. day before was real bad I had to drink 5 times and it wooda bin more if I didn't have a sleep.

Hope everyone has a better day - Bridie!!!!!!!!!!!!!
