SORRY GUYS,
I WAS FORCED TO MAKE KP FILMS, SO I DON''T WATCH MANY MOVIES. TOO MANY TRIGGERS. IT'S EVEN TOO HARD TO WATCH TV, ESPECIALLY THE NEWS, IT CAN REALLY FREAK ME OUT.
A WISE MAN ASKS MANY QUESTIONS.
AN OPEN MIND HOLDS MORE KNOWLEDGE. SEEK THE TRUTH, TO FIND YOURSELF.

Just my random add.
"Professionals" are like schoolteachers - they don't know everything and there are some who really don't give a damn about you. BUT there are also some who really, genuinely care and listen to you.
I wouldn't go so far as to say all of them are idiots, because that's not something I can claim to know.
If I had never met my T (a holistic therapist who cared enough about my wellbeing to give me a free session when I really needed to talk) then I would not exist right now. None of us would.

Hi Deelee,
I am glad your therapist is so wonderful. I too have a wonderful therapist, who will not let us pay her. She is still trying to get our insurance to cooperate and the state, but she does not want us to pay her and be more stressed out. She said she will see us for the rest of her life for free if she has too. She is truly great! We love her!

Glad you have such wonderful therapists Deelee and Amber!! It doesn't occur often that they don't allow you to pay them.. it's not purely therapeuthic anymore either then.. it's really done because of genuine care and they are a lot closer to you than generally allowed in therapeuthic relations (distance, distance, distance..). Glad you managed to find them!
We're going to read 'Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' for our English literature.. yay!!

And, although it's not DID-related at all, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest too.. long live abnormal psychology allowed on your literature list

I don't know if I belong in here or not but there's a Philip K Dick Book- A Scanner Darkly . They just did a movie of it recently but read the book first because the book is much better. It's drug induced DID but it's still very good

REALLY?? omg NO WAY!
As an animation/film student, I have been severely interested in watching that film for a good while now....oh gawwwd the fact that it has DID subject matter makes me want to watch it all the more.
Although knowing it's about drugs...it will probably upset me terribly.
Before I watch it - can I ask anyone who's seen it, if it is anything like 'Requiem For A Dream'?? If it is I'm staying waaaay clear

I've been wanting to see that film too! And then I forgot about it, and now all of a sudden everyone I talk to is ranting about that movie.

I saw the movie, and I would have to say if you want to see it for DID value and info, you are better off reading the book. It doesn't explain it very clearly. However, the turmoil and chaos of trying to figure out who these people are, does feel a lot like DID. But I do not think it is a good one to explain it.
The movie is a trip, it really makes you think.
Harri,
I have not seen Requiem for a Dream, but this movie, was violent and sexual, and was all about drugs, so if those are triggering or upsetting it may not be a good idea for you to watch.
