Hey. (Introduction post)

Postby R07CC » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:03 am

Hey, I'm new to the forum and decided I'd might as well introduce myself and some of them. I'm not sure how this is going to play out right now so I'll just sort of wing it if one of them don't take over.

:) I'm Jean. I guess I'm the original who was here first and that's out most of the time. I'm not sure how long this has been going on, but I do know some of them that's in my head I guess. Sorry, I'm not really sure how to explain everything yet. Now, on to a few of them I'm a little close to. I'm not exactly sure what all of their purposes are. I read the list of words but I didn't really get it.

Anyways, there's the only other I allow out who goes by the name Hype. I'm not exactly sure if Hype is a boy of a girl but one thing I do get is Hype is very hyper and bubbly. Another one of them is a kid named Zero. He's very sad and doesn't talk much. Then there's Seven. Seven's kind of mean but stronge.

Those are the only others or alters or whatever that I've come to know so far, but it feels like there's others up there just waiting to be known.

So, to wrap this up, Hey! I'm glad to become apart of this forum and it's a please to be here. :)

Hi! :D welcome to the forum! It's ok that you do not know who all is up there. It's definitely a process of self discovery. I'm amazed at what ive learned this past yr about my alters and how much this form has helped "normalize" and understand the symptoms of DID. It's definitely helped in opening the doors of communication with my therapy. Best wishes on your journey and hope you stick around!

Thank you both for the welcome :) I'm sure we'll stick around for awhile. Just gotta add, it's so weird to be writing and talking like I'm a group of people or something. Which, in retrospect, I guess we kinda are. :| I don't even know. Thanks for the welcome! :)

Hi there and although im a single personality i can understand what your going through in terms of discovery. My girlfriend is going through the exact same thing and we have went from calling her alters bubbles to now having 13 fully fledged alters. My girlfriend also has a very happy bubbly alter who is out more than any of the others and shes called Summer and is 13 and she also has a couple of littles one of which sounds rather like Zero in that she is very sad and really needs coaxing and reassurance to feel safe. It can be tough and my girlfriend has a very suicidal alter who's actions have resulted in 4 hospitalisations in the past few months. Anyway people on this forum have been very helpful to me in terms of giving me ideas on how to make alters feel safe, how to help myself and my girlfriend communicate with them and generally how to help my girlfriend cope (my girlfriend is a long time lurker here but still doesnt feel up to posting but hopefully that will change). Many of the alters will know of each other already but some might not know of the others at all and can get scared or angry so just be patient and let things work themselves out. One thing my girlfriend has tried is to keep a diary where everyone gets to write and this has really helped us keep track of who is all there and also asking alters you are comfortable with to help calm or reassure the scared alters. For example my girlfriend has an older alter called Jenna who is basically the mother/big sister figure to the littles and she helps them write their thoughts down and helps calm them down if they are scared etc.

Its great that you are accepting things and learning about your alters etc but the thing i would say is be prepared for anything/any number of alters as said my girlfriend started off with a few "bubbles" and over the last few months as they have felt safe the others have let themselves be known. Also if things get tough just think that they will and can get better and remember that the people on this forum know what you are going through and are a great help and lovely bunch of people :)

Not too sure how helpful this post will be but I wish you the best of luck with your journey and hope things go well for you all!

Thanks! And worriedguy, you sound like a good boyfriend to your girlfriend. Or just a good friend in general. I have a few friends that I've told and one of them has dealt with another friend about it so she's supportive. But my other friends looked at me like I was crazy when I told them and one of them said I shouldn't let any of them out because their probably crazy. :| So, yeah. That's knida why I joined this in the first place. I'm just happy I have some people to relate to know. It's good. It's good like...cake. Cake is good. And ice-cream. And candy. Candy's really good. :D

this thread focuses more on the "causes" of DID, DID development, switching/co-consciousness/co-hosting (what they are and can be like), doubt/denial issues, and has a couple good threads on communicating/accepting/understanding/working with alters:
-- For all who question how they have DID/think their's is odd: http://www.psychforums.com/dissociative-identity/topic104081.html
