I know it's an old question/thread, but maybe it helps to just ask Rain how to help? (Maybe it's irrelevant, idk, with all the things that are going on now).

you're welcome. :D

i know cassandra and i have tried to ask rain how to help her. but she just shakes her head, or tells us not to worry, or stays in her room and doesn't respond, or stuff like that.

it might not be the main focus right now, but that doesn't make it irrelevant. :)

But the clean, chemical-y smell reminds someone of how it would smell when we'd help our mom clean the childcare room she worked at, and when we'd go with our mom to her job cleaning (real estate) houses to be rented/sold. The smell causes confusion for someone, wondering why the smell is there but the usual environment and mom is not.

i don't know if they're the only ones, but the ones that i've found out that are triggered by this are the rainbow kids, prism.

he might not be the only one, but i've found out that the ceiling stuff is triggering to at least keith.

tomboy24 wrote:-- We have a futon that holds both good and bad memories, unfortunately. For the most part, we don't want to get rid of it, and it's needed by the other roommates in the apartment to be a futon and be in the living room and such, but sometimes I can feel that at least one alter wishes to get rid of it and never see it again.

i dunno why cassandra didn't seem to realize that the futon is triggering to at least luna (and as far as i know, only luna).

and that's all i know/have found out for now.

That's not how I've seen Rain previously.

Just thinking out loud here. I don't really know how to help, honestly, but I try.
Could it be, that this is something that she tries to resolve by thinking/logic, but can't? (Because not everything is possible to solve with logic?) And now hides it as it's too difficult to solve (hence why she hides in her room and doesn't respond?)
Dx: PDD-NOS. Tested for dissociative disorders and PTSD but they say the symptoms are attributable to PDD-NOS.

it's really the only thing her and kat have in common. they tend to like to worry about themselves by themselves and don't really want people worrying about them or helping them. except kat pushes people away with anger and rain just says stuff like "there's other things to worry about right now" or "perhaps we can discuss this later" (and then never does), or she only will talk to kat (and no one knows what they talk about), or she'll just stay in her room and then when she does come back out she just moves on as if nothing ever happened. (and i think it's mostly only about this topic too).

it could be. i dunno for sure though. i'll pass that on to the others or tell them to read it if/when they can, though, because that seems like a good point to think about.

it's ok you don't know how to help. sometimes the most helpful people are those that want to help and try to even when they don't know how to. :D

I m not sure if this is helpful at all, so if not, just ignore the post! :)

I think it s great you re findin out triggers and who s sensitive to them. How to go from there is another story.

As for Rain. Losin a baby you wanted deeply is very hard. It tears one apart. I can imagine that listenin to the baby stories and the thoughts of 'phew, we don t have all that work' upset her.

As for ways to help her get her though this mourning process- do somethin that symbolises the loss; This can be: littin a candle on the birthday if she or he had born, this could be knittin a baby blanket-somethin she can hold when she needs to feel supported and comforted, makin a card with a name and a meaning.

If none of this makes sense or relates to you, no worries. Just ignore.

Sendin you all gentle hugs

thank you. :D

those are good ideas! i think mikey had talked about the idea of setting up a gravestone or something for the baby, but i think it was too soon for rain to want to talk about it or really think about it, and then it got forgotten. but i'll let the others know to read this if/when they get back and i'll talk to mikey about these ideas too! :D

*gentle hugs appreciated!*

I m glad you liked some of the suggestions.

THere s a website with candles and you can lit one there too if you don t want to lit one at the house. IT burns for 24 hours.

Other things you can do is make a picture, a special flower (like lavender cause it survives lots of weather and you don t want your symbol die on you)

plantin a tree

makin a candle and decoratin with the date name flowers whatever.

I hope you find somethin that suits you.

Good luck, and if you want more info feel free to ask.

Gentle hugs hun
