Medications don't really help with DID. They can help with symptoms of DID, like hallucinations, but for the most part, they don't help treat DID specifically, and they won't help you get better. DID needs therapy, trauma processing, and work towards healing, not medications. All meds will do is mask everything or make certain things worse and they won't help you progress at all (unless, like I said, you have meds that help certain symptoms that can interfere with your progress, like hallucinations).

I also have rapid cycling bipolar disorder along with DID. I was put on, I believe lamotragine (or however you spell it) to try and help my mood swings level out. I hated it. And so did my alters (who were to me, at the time, "just voices", and I was just finding out about DID). It made me feel like an emotionless, mood-less shell, and made everything fuzzy. I decided, not just because I hated it, that I didn't want to become dependent on meds for the rest of my life if I didn't have to, and that I wanted to learn how to cope/deal with the mood swings on my own as best as I could before resorting to meds. So glad I made that choice.

DID is commonly misdiagnosed for schizophrenia, psychosis, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder, and so people with DID can be prescribed meds that they don't need or that don't help them or that might help them but might also make some things worse, etc., due to being misdiagnosed. Usually, from what I've heard on here, most meds don't really help because they make everything fuzzy and harder to do (like communicating with alters), and so that makes progress slow down if not stop altogether at times. But I've also heard that with the right meds, given with the knowledge of the right diagnosis (DID), can help with certain symptoms like hallucinations, derealization/depersonalization, PTSD symptoms/flashbacks, etc.

When I was younger they would just loosey-goosey try to put me on any medication to help my symptoms, which they thought was Borderline Personality Disorder at the time. I was on Welbutrin for the depression, Risperdal for the hallucinations.

Now, I know I don't have BPD, I have Bipolar and DID. My current psychiatrists has me on Lithium for mood swings (though I have taken Depakote with success, but had to stop as I have PCOS), Geodone for the hallucinations (and it helps me sleep, can't without it), and a small amount of Zoloft for my anxiety. NONE of these medications are given to me for DID. My doctor, when he saw my DID symptoms, clearly said to me that he couldn't give me anything for it, only to treat my Bipolar.
