Dating an alter

So i have friend who is a DID host lets call her T and i also have another friend C they are dating and were all really good friends. Well i got to know one of her alters J really well and we flirted a little bit,after getting permission from T and C he asked me out. I havent really dealt much with DID before T and i dont really know much about it but im trying to learn. Should i go out with J?

If you feel like you really like him and everyone is fine with then I don't see why not. Just make sure that is the sort of relationship tha you really want in your life and be prepared t get a lot of crap about it from skeptics of DID. Love is love, though. I don't see why you shouldn't give J a chance if you are sure that you want to be with an alter. Gahhh! This would make such a good storyline for one of my books! Hehehe But, I will refrain from using it.

Absolutely! If everyone is ok with it, there is no reason not to.

I'm sure you're aware that it will be a bumpy ride sometimes. All relationships are. But if you love them, it all works out. And some of the relationships I see on here (as well as my relationship with my own SO) are amazing relationships; they have depth. So by all means!

How well do you like T? Keep in mind that J is in a time-share arrangement with T. So if you get very close to J you will be spending time also with T. Basically all of you (you, J/T et al, and C) are about to enter into a very complex and unconventional relationship situation. There are a couple of self-help books intended not for multiples and their significant others but for people who practice ethical non-monogamy, that are highly relevant. The books are Opening Up by Tristan Taormino and Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy.
