Absolutely, its like argueing with an actual person. As for the voice thing, inside, D and I sound the same so it can get really confusing keeping track of who just said what. Outside, our voices are only a little different. Only trait a careful listener would pick up on is I have a light Irish accent (for whatever reason), D has a plain American accent, but deep in tone like mine. So the average person wouldn't be able to tell we switched. They might sense a different person is out, but they'll just assume its cuz I'm pissed off or they're just being weird (some times we switch even when I'm not feeling threatened or super pissed, like when he feels the need to say something).

It's been my experience that alters can immediately communicate with each other. If your system of alters is not well organized it could make you wonder do or don't I have alters. Time will tell.

Mr Bates offered some good advice to try as well as personal experiences.

When i was at school i remember what happened to me "no memory loss" however i do remember i used to "doodle" a lot because i couldnt concentrate on my work, my exsercise books were a mess because i'd draw all over them.

Do you think its possible that when i "doodled" on my school books i may have been dissociating?

Also im wondering if when an alter is controling me is it possible that i "my self" is aware of whats going on yet "myself" still cant control the situation?

Because i thought that if a person had DID they dont remember what their alters done when they took over.

ahhh soo many questions lol

Its very possible, I actually kinda said it when I told my story about my first encounter with Frank. To explain, the person only blacks out when they're not co-conscience with their alters. If you can't talk to them, you can't be there when they take over. If you're wondering what it feels like to be there when they take over, its like your mind kinda floats to the back of your head while the alter's steps foreward. And you kinda just watch what happens, and feel like you're floating. Its pretty damn scary. If you're not strong enough, you really can't do much. But I have enough strength to struggle with my alters for control even if they're the one driving. Like sitting in the passenger seat and grabbing the wheel.

Now that is something i do relate to "being there when an alter is in control"

Anyway i havent been diagnosed as having DID yet, so im not going to upset myself :-)

If in the future i was diagnosed with DID i dont think id be angry, only a mild anger would form because the emotional abusers at school caused me to dissociate and i would be annoyed at that.

ooh ive just remembered something, ive been having loads of dreams lately about having sex with different guys "maybe my alters showing me what she wants to do" lol

Not DID diagnosed either. I think therapy is for people struggling with their alters. And I get along real nicely with D and Frank. So no therapy for me. :D

 And maybe those aren't dreams, but seeing what she's actually doing from a distant part of your mind! Dun dun dun! Ummm.... kidding, kidding. :P

hehe you never know

Ive just took the mood test that is advertised at the top of this site, mainly because i suspect im a manic depressive also. My dad was never diagnosed with manic depression but my mam mentioned that he showed major signs of having many manic episodes and the very lows of manic depression.

I have printed it off and will make an appointment at the doctors, i wont mention anything about DID though.

I think you should. When you get your car checked for problems, you have the mechanic go over the whole thing, not just one part. Hmm, I'm on a roll with car-themed expressions tonight, lol.

Yes, getting yourself "checked out"...could be a good idea. Besides DID I also have a past history of anorexia....ok, so I still struggle with it today  Seriously I also have major depression with psychosis and GAD, a touch of OCD too.

For a long time I did counsel with a therapist. I'm not seeing one now and I'm doing just fine.

Also, mind posting the url for that quiz here? The advertisement seems to be dead for me.
