Alters and hosts questions

Postby osiris08 » Sat Feb 02, 2013 11:30 pm

Is it possible for my Alters to "visit" another host? And in the inner world is it possible for other hosts or alters of those hosts to "visit" me?
Why should I be who I am, if who I can become will be so much more interesting?

The host(s) is/are the ones that are the most our or function in daily life, so if you have more than 1 host, yes they can visit this other host too. You're all part of each other so in theory everyone can meet everyone else :)

That would depend on how you inner world works. For instance, no one can come into my part of the inner world except me and Leo, so no one besides her can visit me. Where Cassie & Jacob live though, they are visited by several other alters :) There's no reason why hosts and the other alters (both are alters, of course) shouldn't be able to meet, at least in theory :)

Well I suppose I meant more can my alters visit another person. Or there's to me. A few weeks back I had an "alter" that was not my own. It disappeared as quick as it came, but called it's self Victoria.

This would depend more on your spiritual beliefs, really.

But what is broadly accepted is that no, any alter is a part of you and you are a part of them. They might believe themselves to have a different background though, separate from your body. This is not widely accepted though, as I said, so that you would have to ponder for yourself.

I don't believe this to be true. It would be crazy if they could, but I am decidedly agnostic. I used to consider myself pagan, but not any more.

You might find this thread interesting, it's about alter's own thoughts and histories for those that have a history that doesn't match the body's: dissociative-identity/topic105998.html

Thank you very much. I will read through that. Also I am almost finished typing one of my Alter introductions and will have it uploaded shortly.
