I need badly for someone to give my their opinion on this. As you can see I'm very new but I'm extremely confused and experiencing a bit of anxiety right now. let me just start off by saying I have never looked into Dissociative Identity Disorder or anything very similar before because I swear I haven't even given it a thought until recently. Strange things are occurring, too strange.
For the past year or more I have been convinced that my ex-best friend has been stalking me via internet. He has posted my personal information and pictures on certain websites.
At first it was things that were already publicly accessible or things that I told him, so I figured I only really had myself to blame for being a blabber-mouth. But recently...
"He" has been posting pictures I have completely private, absolutely no way he could be getting to them unless he was some super smart unrealistic hacker. Even more bothersome, he has been taunting me with anonymous messages with extremely private information on a tumblr account that I never gave to him. So private I could have sworn they were things only me and my boyfriend would know. I was talking about it to my boyfriend yesterday when he started to go all suspicious on me. Seemingly suggesting that my ex-friend isn't real. Naturally this made me extremely upset and confused. I asked him exactly what he meant by that, "if he's not real then how do you suppose all of this stuff got out?" to which he replied "Maybe it's in your head.."
He pointed out that he has never seen any concrete proof of my ex-friends existence. Which is true. He tried prompting me for more information about him- such as email addresses or web profiles.
I suddenly couldn't think of any of it. later on, I managed to remember one profile- but it was disabled.
The scariest part is, is that I have MEMORIES of being friends with this person.Talking to them online and even on the phone once or twice. But the memories feel weird sometimes, I don't know how to describe it- foggy? You'd think I would KNOW if I was friends with someone, wouldn't I?
I'm scared my boyfriend thinks I'm telling him lies or being dishonest when it's nothing like that to me. The more it's being looked into the more confused I'm getting. recently I just don't know what is in my head and what isn't.

It's hard to tell from what you posted what this could be, but DID is a definite possibility that should be looked into!
Here are some threads that might be helpful to you. If we were you, we'd look through the threads and see if there's any symptoms we match, any experiences we identify with, etc., and then go from there. If you do find symptoms that you experience and things you identify with, then you should probably look into the DID possibility further.
-- DDNOS/DID Resources: symptoms, common questions, etc: http://www.psychforums.com/dissociative-identity/topic100829.html (This thread contains resource websites, which I highly recommend, and organized threads from this site that discuss discovery experiences, memory issues, symptoms, and much, much more).
-- For all who questions how they have DID/think their's is odd: http://www.psychforums.com/dissociative-identity/topic104081.html (This thread focuses more on the different "causes" of DID, DID development, switching/co-consciousness/co-hosting, and doubt/denial, but still may be helpful to you, especially if you find that you experience dissociative symptoms).
KEEP IN MIND that DID is a very personal disorder, and that you might not "fit" or "match" all of the symptoms of criteria out there! And that's ok! There are MANY variations and differences throughout DID cases, so don't write off the DID possibility just because you don't "fit" it perfectly or something. Just because people don't have the same symptoms doesn't mean they don't have the same cold, and DID is no different.
Hope this place is helpful to you!

I've read in other posts (I can't pinpoint them exactly) but when a different state of consciousness in a person (some call alters...) is trying to make their presence/existence known - they might leave notes or such. Is there any way you can mentally address this person, leave a note (invitation) or send an email or however you may have communicated before and ask them what they hope to gain from this? What they want? If it is part of you- then the mental 'asking' is telling them you are ready to know them. If it is someone outside of you - then it can't hurt to ask them so you might get them to stop. Good luck!!
