I don't understand what your original question is, but if you mean in terms of basis of spirituality I think I get it.

God has a plan for each of use.
Funny enough too, awhile long ago, when I was asking my alters their purpose, my ISH chimed in and told me mine.

So if I understand your question, I do believe that I had planned and chosen this life. We(ISHs) went over a bit over what we had planned, everyone's roles in it, including some of my family members, also how I can change my (life)plan as I've expressed desire to do so. It ended up having a profound impact on me, and completely altered the way I view life(in a more empowered stance, as well as an increase in a particular amount of inner peace). I do have alot of work to do, but look forward to when I accomplish my base goal, which is more of a beginning of a new existence.

I do view DID as a blessing so to speak, or perhaps "grace" if I understand the definition properly. I hope this answers your question.
