What's with my dreams?

Postby lifelongthing » Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:57 am

This one is going to be filed under "stupid question" but I'm wondering what's with my dreams lately.. Been like this many months now.

On several occasions now I have dreamed about other people alters on here that they don't know about. Like, writing with someone and having them talk to me for them to see that this is someone the host/the person I've talked with before doesn't know about. For a while in the summer we had a re-current nightmare of [someone on here] having an alter who was desperate for help [with something]. I don't remember too much of it now but it was definitely stressful.

Are we just projecting onto others in our dreams? It's really tiering actually :P

I think maybe it just means you care about the people on here. Maybe when the dreams get bad you could take a step back, try to disconnect a little and do something else for a bit? I hate to suggest that, I know what a wonderful comfort the forum is. I hope the dreams ease up soon.

It hasn't ever really come more or less when we've been here more or less, which is why I doubt it really has to do with the people on here.. When we've taken a break from being here for instance, the dreams have come just as often (it's not that it's that often, but for a short while during the summer it was)..

I'm guessing my dreams are trying to tell me something. I'm just not sure what.. Usually after such dreams we've found out about new alters within a couple of weeks though so I'm just guessing, but could it be projecting? Like checking how we'd feel about finding new people?

That makes sense. The mind has weird ways of doing things like that. In the end, you hold the keys to understanding your own dreams. The symbolism in them will mean something to you even if your not sure what it is just yet, but I think you probably already have an idea.

Thanks. You're probably right. We were in dream therapy for years and we were, honestly, quite good at it. We did very well, stopped having nightmares and most of our PTSD symptoms were gone. But Key has been closer a couple of days now and the woman she talks most about is the one who taught us the most, so we lose a bit of our confidence in it because of it.

Thanks for the help :)

They obviously meant something because our PTSD symptoms have been way higher than they've been in a while.. Mostly just one though.. Everything is making us flinch.

To share more of the dream.. The dream was about two alters. I'd say kids.
cpr__TT & cpr__TTt
e.g CPR, as in help to breathe.
__ = something, can't remember what, some number I think?

As for the T's and all of that I have no idea. Many alters who have started coming forward in dreams first have come out with jumbled up names or just lots of letters etc and then giving clear names later.

I have no idea. We got a necklace the other day with a relatively short chain and it's been pretty triggering to have something around our neck like that *trigger warning* because we have been used to being choked a lot *trigger warning end*.

It's obviously something because the dream won't let go and it keeps replaying over in our head. Hopefully tonight's sleep will offer some more answers or just let this slip further away so it isn't so disturbing.

Thanks for letting me just ramble :)
