i have not had this thing... the hug... before... but i would receive it... thank you for it... it is unfamiliar... i am told the gesture is nice... You are kind to offer it. I am smiling. Ah, but you should not. It is to touch the fire, to do this.

Safe hugs, very good stuff. I will hug you, I do fear the fire or anything around you, my new friend Ell. You deserve to be treated well

I don't want to. This disorder is what makes me, well, unique. And I like being unique.
EDIT:
Well, I don't know much of what can be done or how to help, but I know one thing... Forced integration... Don't do it. Ever. It may work for a while, but without the cooperation of all involved alters, it will not last and when it all falls apart your son is much worse
Saw that on someone's post.
And I bet there are MANY others I don't know about yet.

MiniUSB, there's a huge difference between integration and forced integration.
However, integration is indeed a choice. It is possible for you to heal without integration (depending on your view of what "fully healed" entails), though integration does have a chance of happening on it's own during the healing process if I'm not mistaken (all depends on the person and their system). We do not wish to integrate either. It's our goal to become a fully cooperative and functional system/team, while not only each of us heal from our own wounds, but we all help each other to heal as a whole as well.

I'm told there are 20 but I don't know that for sure. I have met *counts on fingers* ten so far... No animals or objects yet (there are a couple of horses inside but they are pets, not alters).

Having 3 is tiring enough. I don't know how you all cope! But if you have a good system then I guess it's not so bad. I personally wouldn't want to get rid of them but maybe that's because I maintain control for 95% of the time with 4% co-conscious and 1% completely unaware. I suppose my system is quite different from what I've read (still got no official diagnosis) but I mainly just see and hear my alters which I can cope with even though I pretty much hear from them every day.

Cassandra thought 2 was a handful when she only knew of Kat and Rain. Then she thought 4 was a handful. Now look at us!
It does have it's difficult times, but I think all systems have those, just to different degrees. And besides, the good times are well worth it. Being able to let Cassie run around freely and act herself, or having those awesome days where we all work well together as a smoothly-run system/team- little or big, the ups are worth the downs you encounter, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. And besides, the end result of knowing all of yourself and getting fully healed is well worth any struggle, I think.
At first, Cassandra used to only hear and sometimes see Kat and Rain. Then with increases in need, awareness, and communication, that's when switching became not only more noticeable (to Cassandra), but more frequent as well.
I'd guess that it's how your system is set up that you don't really encounter more than seeing or hearing your alters. I mean, if they're happy with their own lives, "inner world" or not, then they probably wouldn't have any desire to come "out" until/unless it was absolutely necessary. I know that Kyra was only out once, maybe twice, while she had her "own reality" and was living her own life inside.
