Alters surfacing

Hi.

For a while we had many alters surfacing, one after another. Some of them hadn't been out in several years, others had been out many times with no one recognizing them as their own person on the outside etc. Now someone has surfaced who hasn't been out for years and who it seems the system thought **trigger warning** was dead **trigger warning end** (her name is Isalin and she's 8 and very traumatized). Then now we've found out about a new part who we don't know much about, except certain parts of our system remembers her, but say she's not been out for many, many years - like Isalin. Does this mean we are getting to the bottom of how many we are? As the alters who haven't surfaced in a long time are starting to let themselves be known as well? It's not a large increase anymore and it seems to create a more whole picture in regards to memories etc. What is your experience in uncovering alters and getting to the bottom of how many you are? We don't have an ISH, but we do have a system manager who seems to know most anything going on on the inside, but she refuses to tell us much about the numbers and such things. She more keeps an eye on everything and tries to help us and guide us in life.

We do discover new alters sometimes, like Cella a while ago. Sometimes alters disappear for a while too, just to come back a long time after (had that 2 times now, 1 hasn't returned but is seen sometimes). I don't know how many alters there are, but for as far as I know Florette and Claire don't feel like telling. so for now it is a number that can change anytime.

Well for my host it would be aggravating she was told 45 by are glorious admin (through pestering).......but the new sections we have absolutley no clue.......but when it come to finding others they usually pop out of our internal worlds forest and if they want to see the host but most newly discovered get taken by an admin for testing or something and placed what area in the internal or section they suit (we have a school,mansion,graveyard,industrial graveyard this is not including the other sections)...but lately channelle has been very daring she's figured her alters are hidden in her drawings that's how she started making contact with Hades(admin of another section) BIG step for us all for her in that perspective. if they want to make contact with the host they may.

We can definitely identify with what you're experiencing. Others thought that Rain was more like a system manager than a caretaker until alters that she didn't know about started popping up. Then others thought that Marie was more like a system manager since she had more knowledge than Rain, but it doesn't seem like she has "all the answers" as far as things like how many of us there are goes, and if she does, she's not telling anyone else what they are.

We've gone from a system of 4 alters to a system of 18 in about 2 years. My theory is that it seems as though our environment is finally reaching a point where everyone feels more comfortable/safe about being known, coming forward, and even coming "out".

I'd certainly say that you might be "getting to the bottom" of things. It's a good sign of increased awareness and that your environment is comfortable enough for alters to resurface after not being out for a long time, or even after being though to be "dead". Cassandra keeps wondering the same question every time a "new" alter re/surfaces. However, I think you'll know when you're "done". You'll just feel as though you've "found" everyone, or something, you know? Kinda like how you can sense alters' presences, you'll sense when you've "found" everyone. Least, that's my theory.

It's hard to know sometimes. Leo definitely is a system manager, as she always knows what's going on and how many we are etc. There is a lot she doesn't want to tell us though. But with these newest ones, who have been gone for a long time, she's helped prepare them to get back out into this world etc - so she's obviously known about them. She has her reasons, and usually they're obvious after a while, but not always so much in the moment.

Yeah, I know the feeling. 7 months ago we knew about "5, maybe 6" alters. Now we have 24 alters.

Feeling something doesn't make it true, but it really feels like it at least - that we're doing something good and right since the more "further away" ones are starting to come out. I used to feel like we had found everyone, but how wrong I was though. That's many alters ago now. So we will see, I guess.

Yeah, I know. Cassandra thought she knew everyone when it got up to 7 alters. I mainly meant everyone will feel it as a whole, you know? Not just think it or have the host feel it or something. It's kinda like when you know you're near the end of the race even if you can't see the finish line just yet or something. You just sorta...know. Somehow. You know? It's kinda hard to explain and I'm a bit fuzzy, so that doesn't help.

Gotta admit, I don't think I've been fuzzy before. Crowded, yes. Being the "middle-man", yes. Sliding around switching like crazy, yes. But not fuzzy. It's...interesting.

Yeah, I understand. I'm not sure though. It seems we might have 2 fragments/alters that we didn't know about. I've no idea if we're close to the end right now.. It's all just kinda overwhelming. Time will tell
