My diagnoses are DID, late-onset PTSD, and somatoform disorder. They all have the same source, of course. At the outset of psychotherapy for DID I had multiple chronic somatic symptoms, most of which have resolved without any direct treatment. The PTSD symptoms were new; they came when my system entered a DID crisis. With psychotherapy the PTSD also has almost completely resolved. I have been prescribed no medications, although we did discuss trying antidepressants.

Sharing this much with us is a big step for you, isn't it? Have you said this much to your T? This is a good way to cut a problem down to size in safe baby steps. You "circle in on" the painful content, starting from a safe distance where it does not hurt. Gradually you can get closer, without it ever hurting too much.

It really is actually.

I don't have a T currently (waiting for a new one to be appointed).
Thank you. I'm really hoping to be able to open up about it because I feel it could massively help with the OCD which is putting up a lot of road blocks in my life that I don't need. I would like to heal and more and more I'm considering integration of multiple parts. I would like for my OCD to not be so strong on top of all the other trauma work that needs doing for this to happen.
