Thank you very much for posting this Tylas. I really do like the DMS's new wording. Will you be writing about updates to the ICD as well, should that come?

If and when they occur, yes.

The ICD-10 still calls DID - MPD, so they have a bit of catching up to do. Dell's 2006 papers details well what is good and bad about both the ICD and the DSM.

I look forward to the ICD updates!

I am well aware. We hold a MPD diagnosis, actually.

Thank you. I'm happy to hear you'd be posting about that as well :)

I'm glad you're here Tylas :)

Yes, indeed, it is because of people like you that I came to this forum.
Dx: PDD-NOS. Tested for dissociative disorders and PTSD but they say the symptoms are attributable to PDD-NOS.

While I am looking at this stuff today... here is the proposed DSM criteria for DDNOS type 1

DSM 5: Clinical presentations similar to Dissociative Identity Disorder that fail to meet full criteria for Dissociative Identity Disorder. Examples include chronic and recurrent presentations of mixed dissociative symptoms that feature a) moderate disturbance of identity associated with less-than-marked discontinuities in sense of self and agency, and/or b) alterations of identity or episodes of possession in a person who reports no dissociative amnesia.

DSM IV TR: Clinical presentations similar to Dissociative Identity Disorder that fail to meet full criteria for this disorder. Examples include presentations in which a) there are not two or more distinct personality states, or b) amnesia for important personal information does not occur.
