Looking for advice

Postby OldFatherTime » Tue Apr 03, 2018 2:23 pm

Hi all,

I have been searching the internets for advice about something that happened to me over the last weekend, if anyone here has any light to shed on this it would be great and all responses are greatly appreciated.

So, in November of last year I suffered a violent home invasion in which I was hospitalized with severe head trauma due to a bludgeoning by two assailants, I am in my twenties and have since had therapy for PTSD/depression/anxiety among other things.

Everything was going well and I was back to work in February still with a few anxiety issues but nothing unmanageable.

The reason I am here is because last weekend I lost a day, by which I mean that I was in one part of the city in which I live and then within the blink of an eye I was at a friend's house on the other side of the city and my car it turned out later as outside another of my friends house in another completely different part of the city, all in all I think I lost roughly 12 hours.

I have no recollection of what happened, what I did, said or how my car and myself got to where we ended up. My friends after questioning were adamant that my behavior was completely normal and there were no drugs of any kind involved, (alcohol, caffeine or otherwise). This as I am sure you can imagine has been pretty disconcerting and somewhat worrying as anything could have happened in this time and I am worried it could happen again at another completely random time, god forbid at work for example.

I have contacted my therapist about this and have been doing research whilst I am waiting for her to reply, which is how I found this forum.

I am not sure if I am asking a question here but I thought this would be a good place to seek advice and put my story if any of you out there had anything to say on the matter.

I thank you for reading my post and will thank you again for any replies in advance.

I'm not qualified to diagnose you, but it sounds like a fugue state. Maybe a good place to continue your research.

Hi your post was sent in April 2018 so it is rather late to send a reply but still i send one because i totally identify with your loss of time. Unlike your experience which lasted quite long I loose hours of time that I cannot account for. In any given day I start out on a journey, lets say a trip into town. My last memory could be of getting on the train into town. But I never get to town or basically I have no memory of reaching my destination. Hours later I come back to reality but I am in a place that I have no memory of how I got there. I am certainly not in town. There is no recall what so ever of what transpired during what I call a blackout phase. These episodes are quite common for me. At first they terrified me. Well the awareness of lost time terrified me. During my very first experience I blackout out (lost conscious awareness) I was talking gibberish like talking in a language to my sister which she could not understand. A sort of talking in tongues. It scared the hell out of me when i came back to reality and was informed by my sister of what went on in blackout phase.
To cut a long story short i still experience, what I now know to be fugue states, but I have come to accept them as a normal part of my brain that wants to protect itself from some outer or inner turmoil that it cannot cope with. Nothing bad has ever happened to me during fugue states of which I have experienced many.

Every half step you have to share, so that they become alive to each other's(your headmates) way of being. So that means where are you going and how to get there. It is just like a homework assignment the night before like preparing clothing there is map training. That is why we assume most you all are book smart or geniuses. This prepares you for discovery that means what and who protected you in school and in college ectera
