Mild Dissociation Because of BPD?

Postby xiximmxi » Tue Oct 02, 2018 6:32 pm

Anybody dealing with dissociation not exactly because of DID/PTSD but because of identity disturbance and diffusion issues of Borderline Personality Disorder?

They say our "sense of self or identity is probably made up of your beliefs, attitudes, abilities, history, ways of behaving, personality, temperament, knowledge, opinions, and roles. Identity can be thought of as your self-definition; it’s the glue that holds together all of these diverse aspects of yourself..."

& For me, I have so many ideas, beliefs, attitudes, personalities that I don't know who I really am. I can pinpoint which part of me thinks this and other part this, and I realize that they're all me, but.. I feel like I have a lot of Me's inside.

It's so frustrating sometimes because I can have contradicting feelings and thoughts - which comes off as indecisiveness.

It sounds closer to OSDD than BPD. Dissociation is seen in BPD, but I don't think it's to the extent that you're describing.

We were diagnosed with BPD when we were nineteen. For the past year, we have been struggling to even just get an assessment for dissociative disorders done because the psychiatrists and psychologists who were competent insisted it was all BPD. After much arguing, we finally convinced someone to give us an assessment.
Lo and behold, we are now diagnosed with DDNOS.
Official dx: DDNOS, BPD
Suspected dx: C-PTSD
