see my other article for a great idea about a sun lamp for your home! shine it on yourself while you are working on your computer!

Because lightboxes are for depression, seasonal depression, you almost get a perscription for it pretty much through your doctor to purchase one.

The lights are different, you can't grow anything with the lightboxes, it's the sun but without the UV pretty much.

I do own a lightbox, use it every morning almost... it didn't come with a stand, well it did but it wasn't very good... my dad made me a wooden stand and we set the light up on it, used so straps so it was looking down on me and it was just great. It definatly makes a difference.

All you have to do is sit in front of it, not so close where your nose is touching obviously but fairly close. Also you do not have to look directly into the light, as long as the corner of your eye hits the light then that is enough...They say it's best really early in the morning and only the mornings, because if you do it any later it could keep you more awake and what not and screw up your sleeping patterns which wouldn't be good. I've been senstive to it however so instead of the 30 minutes I stay under for about 10-15 depending how I'm feeling.

Sitting in front of a sunny window help, but it wont feel like the effects of a lightbox.

There's alot about lightboxes, but some of them look really crappy lol... the small ones for desk that are square are iffy to me, mind you I have an old, heavy big one, but I wont give it up... Plus lightboxes are expensive, I was lucky and got mine for I believe $100 back in 1996... so it's been awhile...

If you go into the Seasonal Effective Disorder thread there is information pinned about light therapy...
