Stay in a light environment

Postby patm3300 » Thu Jan 05, 2006 11:17 pm

one thing that happens all too much with depressed people is that they seclude themselves in dark environments. if the visible light does not reach the retina of the eye then the suprachiasmatic nucleus cannot wake switch into the on stage. you will feel more awake and energized if you stay in a light environment. i used to seclude myself in dark environments like my basement. the only light down there would come from the computer screen. that only added to my depression. now i keep all of my bright basement lights shining on me at all times. the light helps me to elevate my mood. really the only time that you should be in darkness is when it is time to sleep.

in another thread you mentioned trying to buy some weed or shrums.......if this is the route you plan to take.....don't bother to take your meds. They are going to be totally ineffective....or have negative effects on you vs. the positive they could have if you were drug free.....you combine drugs w/ prescription medication.....you loose the beneficial effects of the prescription medication.

My point is not for you to give up meds....but to realize how foolish your choice to start up drugs is....stay on your meds....but don't take away anything you might be accomplishing good for yourself by adding drugs to the mix.

GOOD good, i am glad to hear that you are back:) so angel, i have a question, i haven't been able to find anything about this online so far, but what happens if you mix prozac generic and weed, it makes me feel amazing, but at the same time, the weed is more addicting now that it was when i was off meds, i think that it's because used to, i could get high enough off of a bowl, a very small bowl, the only time i would smoke a bunch is if i was with friends, and it was a party. but now, i have to smoke an entire joint, a nice fat one, before i am satisfied, and then i am hyper, but lazy lol, and i'll end up smoking at least one more joint, if not two more in one night, $#%^, thats like three joints a night, when your high, it doesn't feel like that much, i think i'm going to quit before this gets out of hand, btw, if you knwo the drug interaction, i would appreciate knwoing anything anybody has to offer

I would contact your dr. I don't know any exact info....I can only tell you what I"ve been told about combining prescription meds w/ either drugs or alcohol and I can only share what happened to me when I tried to drink while on my medication.........and I mean like having 2 beers and feeling like I went on an all night binge...........I talked w/ my dr. about it the next day......so I mean...I have that type of info....but not exact numbers, info, etc.

ah, ok well, thanks, i did know about the alchohol, cause i had been drinking on time with friends, and before i finished the second beer, i felt like yea, dn all night binge, so no more alchihoool!!! lol, i think my problem with weed is that i have always been addicted, but my excuse previously was too feel better about eveyrthing, i think now it's just that i don't want to stop because it's always around, and it's fun, i guess the $#%^ just hasn't hit the fan on this one
