Postby rain7 » Sat Nov 26, 2005 11:00 pm

im confused and just received a letter from my psychatrist and need help de-coding parts....

'she also told us about one massive panic attack...when she went to london. during the panic attack she ran through the streets for nearly an hour and a half, until her feet were bleeding. there was a distinct psychotic quality to that panic attack.'

what's a psychotic panic attack

'i considered carefully various other differential diagnosses such as rapid cycling depression, as co-morbid condition with other pre-psychotic condition'

de-code please!! i find it so rude when they dont explain things, thanks xxXxx

To be honest I don't think there is such a thing as a Psychotic panic attack.

A panic attack where you are scared and freaking out can have you doing something like that, to try and run away from the fear etc... there are Psychotic disorders, but feeling psychotic and anxiety are different.

That's weird that she'd say that i'm almost curious to call up my psychiatrist and talk to her about it.

Maybe she meant your Pdoc that she felt that way when she felt panicky because she didn't know how to control it?

That can definatly make you feel crazy. But I suppose anything is possible...

wierd, but hey! finally sombody with somthing like me, um yeha, panick attacks are kinda of like haveing pyschosis anyway right, cause are thinking things out of the ordinary, and definately not true, and well, your anxiety is very high, well i used to have bad psychotic features with my depression, so talk to me! i can answer things, ...i hope anyway:) um, were you hearing any voices during the attack, i mena what was going through your head, not necessarily what you were thinking, just what was going through your head, um, ever have any paranoia out of the ordinary, you may be like me, it's kind of like a mild for of scizophrenia, only one thats waaaaaay more manageble, and goes away with little meds, like i got better with only and anti depressant and anti psychotic, tell me more about your condition, um
'i considered carefully various other differential diagnosses such as rapid cycling depression, as co-morbid condition with other pre-psychotic condition'

that kind of sounds like what happend to me, i had mild sort of depression my whole life, and when i went to college, it got way worse, kind of like a cycle turning on high, like she said, it always cycles with me depression that is, and um....yes, when the cycle went on high, thats when i had psychotic episodes, so yeah, i hope that helps, wb
somtimes, it's like i want to touch these lights, and give into them become them, just a flash for a moment~in this world
