Add on for Cymbalta?

Postby Topgunsamus » Sat Mar 12, 2011 5:27 am

I am on 60mg of Cymbalta for major depression and OCD and have taken it since october, i also sometimes take Xanax .5 mg for sleep. I noticed a couple times felt like my mind felt much faster and clearer and i am not sure if it was the xanax doing it but i would like to get this effect back. I was wondering if there is an add on drug that can help me think like this again without being as dangerous as benzos. I have OCD and my counselor thinks that it is likely that when the obsessive thoughts stopped although i cant tell if they did i was able to think faster and not drain my serotonin like I was. Suggestions?

No, that was probably the Xanax. When did you take the medicine, and when did you notice this sense of clarity?

And my suggestion: This is how you develop a nasty Xanax habit. Xanax is easily addicting, and i think you understand why. It's the same reason you want to find something that can achieve the same high you experienced on Xanax. You shouldn't be trying to chase that high. It'll end badly. A high like that first time is never achievable again. If you are functioning, showing improvement in therapy, and your counselor is happy with the progress you are making, theres no reason for an "add on" to be prescribed to you.
The mind makes a terrible master, but a powerful servant.
