Does anyone here exercise regularly?

Re: Exercise

I have in the past and i do alot now and the part inbetween where i wasnt really is my 6 year period of general depression.
My situation was probably not the same as most but from reading up on it the exercise helps your body create endorphines iirc which is th happy chemical.
I used to do intense exercise like 2 hours of astro turf soccer every friday.It kept my immune system strong because i had candida at the time.But one winter i decided to give it a rest and i think that lack of exercise was the edge that candida needed to gain control.a month later i was having a mental breakdown and feeling like crap.
I also lose alot of anxiety and tension after a good walk.It helps me sleep and i am able to speak more with strangers after a walk when before i might be kind of shaky and trembling a little.
I cant reccomend it enough!
The last week i have been making a focussed effort to go outside every day, so i walk into the city in an hour maybe read some books in easons shop, buy something small and another hour walk back.I will be a little sore but that goes with practise and you will find you can walk alot further too.
Its just one of my main ways to combat depression and my social phobias and anxieties.

I should mention too that if you decide to do regular exercise make sure it does not become too addictive.
I used to be doing 50 chin ups,pushup and dumbell reps at 2 am on a weekday when i had work.It was addictive because of those happy chemicals and i was at a stage where i would be pacing with too much energy late at night because i didnt get my fix.
Id reccomend walkng with music if thats possible maybe start with 30 min walk every day for a few weeks then an hour after a month to see how you go.
Another thing i got when playing alot of soccer was my shin splints(as a friend said anyway).A terrible pain behind my shins from too much exercise.What actually was the cas was my diet.I was eating mostly carbs and sugar and i needed the protein to rebuild my tired muscles.
A good diet is 65% fibre(green veg included) 10% complex carbs(like brown rice) and rest is protein(meat).
You can eat more carbs and a little protein before the exercise for fast burning energy.After alot of exercise i am in the habit now of searching for protein to rebuild those tired muscles.Otherwise you get lactic acid build up and thats what i felt behind my shins.Diet and exercise are key in combating depression and i could have saved myself alot of hassle had somebody told me this before and stressed jus how important the diet was.
Today i was walking into the city and didnt grab any breakfast.Dropped into a healthfood shop asked the lady if those almonds are good for protein(hope she wasnt lying hehe) which i suspected they were and had a lil something to keep me going.

I now see food as protein ,fibre ,carbs and it helps me keep my diet balanced.
Depressed,confused,anxious? Maybe a solution is here --> http://www.psychforums.com/depression/topic53818.html
