Okay, heres a story, A very brilliant student in a school always gets "A" in all subjects and remains as the top boy in the class. But then he got a "B" in one subject and commits suicide for this non-sence B grade.

Now, is this a common thing? I found two cases of this type and one suicidal (a teacher told me) intension. And all of them are during the adolescence period. Can you please provide some info or links about this if you know any? Thank You.

Hey,

The kid obviously had other problems apart from getting the 'B'. That just happened to be the thing that pushed him over the edge. However, it could have been anything small and remote, such as someone not returning a call, or him seeing something upsetting on the news. The 'B' just happened to be the one that tipped him over the edge, past his threshold.

He obviously had high expectations for himself, academically-speaking. I mean, a 'B' is good in most peoples' minds but I can understand why he thinks it's bad: I have high standards too at college. In fact, I was once very very upset at getting a 99%.

Yeh, I was upset. I wasn't trying to boast that I get good results either. I just set my standards too high and anything less than perfect is just not good enough in my mind. I'm curious though: Is this story real?
