Anyone have tried so many SSRIs etc and find only Wellbutrin worked? Well, it did work but I have been on it for so many years now I know its not working anymore. Now, I tried getting off but I would have these crying episodes that were just uncontrollable. I could not think clearly at work and I had only just reduced my Wellbutrin was not off it completely. I am not working now so thought maybe I could give this a try again. My psych doc told me before by reducing it and me having the deeper depression then must mean it is working. Well, I hope the heck that I am not that darn bad off of it. I mean it seems it was more like withdrawl symptoms. Okay, now he is saying okay we can try to reduce it again and stay off then restart. I have been diagnosed dysthymia but I have had one major bout of depression. I am bordering that now it feels but most part just dont feel like I can enjoy life. I really want to be able to truly enjoy things and be motivated to get better. He suggested possibility of adding Abilify. I am not interested in that because that is the Only thing we had not tried but I know somebody who gained so much weight on it they came off. i was not interested. I guess I should also ask anybody try abilify with wellbutrin and how did that go?

Everyone really does experience side effects differently than others. I also happen to be one person who seemed to gain a lot of weight on it, but I also have diabetes and take a lot of insulin and that in itself makes you gain weight, so it could be that too. Once I reached a certain weight, I stopped gaining so I can't say for sure it was abilify, to be honest. But anyhow I had other options so I tried another drug that didn't have me gain weight. Vraylar. So far it's worked and I don't have hunger cravings with it. Crossing my fingers because these things can stop working and then you may need a higher dose or a different drug altogether.

I went through every ssri and snri until Wellbutrin. It seemed like the only thing that worked for my depression. I also gained weight when I was on it, which sucked because I had previously lost a ton of weight only months before hand from an ED. The weird thing about anti-depressants that work is that you don't realize how depressed you were before you took them, until you stop taking them. Keep taking it, and if you can't up your dose *mod edit*. Stay tf away from Abilify. I've only seen it make people go insane or suicidal, and my psychiatrist agrees.
